Is that one meal or the whole day?

I would be calling the dietician to have them give you a planned diet. As the others have suggested measure foods! I am truly surprised he is not totally sick or in some discomfort from eating that much at one meal. Praying for him. Please use these forums for advise, wealth of information here.

Just had the drain removed. Not very pleasant, actually made me nauseous. IV's are all out. Waiting for discharge paperwork then home I go. Little nervous about going home, did anyone else feel nervous? Although while I was here my baby girl, a black boxer, had 5 pups. My house has been in an uproar with my dogs and daughter missing me. Our cat went into hiding and is feeling neglected too. :-( I feel so bad for being away for almost 5 days.

Congrats on your new puppy babies waiting for you at home! We're you in the hospital for 5 days?? I am hoping to only have to stay 2 nights. My surgery is Thursday!! What is the drain you guys are talking about?

I miscalculated a day, forgot which day I was on but was only the 4 days. I believe it was mainly due to the weekend surgery. The drain is a bulb, called the JP drain, it drains stuff from I side the abdomen. If I had an incision leak then it would fill up quickly or the color of the Fluid that was drank. (From what I was told)

I feel so productive today :) I took my kids to get haircuts, pictures with santa, pick up some items from the store for dinner and my daughters project for school, topped off with me cooking dinner for everyone. Oh I feel so much better.

So I ate my first food today. I had a scrambled egg. After I ate half the egg I started to belch so I stopped eating. Is that the sign to stop? I know we don't get full feelings yet.

My nutritionist said that I would only be able to tolerate half of an egg for awhile. Belching is a sign that you are full since we dont have any nerves to tell us to stop :) Im so happy for you :) Congrats!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
