I am almost 3 months post op and have been having intermittent dizziness. I feel the room move and I feel off balance. Anyone have this happen and how do you know it's nothing serious or if it is even because if the RNy surgery?

I've had the same thing but I'm not aware of any connection to RNY. My primary gave me a Rx for Meclizine, 12.5 MG tablets and they help - a LOT.

I got a bad case of vertigo when I was on a liquid diet and it was the worst thing ever. I was in the hospital and I couldn't walk around for about a week without throwing up and couldn't drive for like a month. It was bad. I think it was from the fast weight loss. I am not sure but if I got it doing that and you are getting it now I think it has to do with that. I am not a doctor though so I don't know.

I found I had that as well around 3 months. It does get better but, you have to make sure you're getting in enough liquids. Dehydration can cause lots of issues. I found getting enough rest, drinking enough liquids and doing my best to get my Protein in helped with it. Definitely call your surgeon, you don't want to let it go too long especially if you're doing all of the above!

It is dehydration. I always know if I need more water! Lol!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
