Can you be more specific as to what your looking for Monken? I'd be happy to answer any of your questions.

What I wanted know from people was when did they go back to work? Or when they felt well enough to go back to work.

Well, I don't work, but I can tell you that I wouldn't have wanted to for almost 3 weeks. However, there are some members on here who did go back to work after just 2 weeks. Kudos to them, I couldn't have done it.

yes i think it depends on the person and there body as well as age....My sister inlaw went back to work in two weeks but she only had the RNY and I am having a band to RNY with some scar tissue removal..

Ya know what Monken??? I never even considered that because I too had a band removal, a significant amount of scar tissue and a large hernia that had engulfed my band that maybe my procedure was more extensive. I thought I was just being a whimp...thanks!

And good luck with your surgery and recovery.

Me too band to by pass, had surgery on 15 oct, I've been nowhere haven't even got dressed! Been in awful pain. Have any of you guys got like a concave hollow where your port was? My previous surgeon has bad reputation and made a bit of. Mess of me :-(

wow do you know what they did in there to fix you up? when I had my first band replaced I had pain where the port used to be because they didn't use any mesh around the port. They learned that using mesh would help and not cause any hernia's. My second band had mesh around the port and I don't feel much at all. My surgery for conversion to bypass has moved to Jan of next year.

Yes it was, Dr. removed the band, repaired a hernia, dealt with a lot if scar tissue and then did my RNY. I was in the hospital for 2 nights, up and walking the first night. Heck, that was the easy part!

I took 4 weeks off should of taken 6 but I'm a nurse in an ER so I'm on my feet 12 hours nonstop and lots of lifting so. I don't have a hallow place where my port was.

I had the conversion back on July. In the hospital for 3 days out of work for 2 weeks felt great after a week. Had no issues at all. Good luck!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
