Strange question

Recommended Posts

Yes, I have experienced it. I still am and I am no longer on just liquids. I've been cold since I had surgery. I was always hot before and couldn't stand it when the office gals were freezing, so now I wear layers and layers (and still freeze). I'll take cold if that means loosing the weight. I've heard it goes away after a while.

Im much much colder than I used to be.I used to turn of the heating and my flat mates were angry:-)) lol Now Im the one who turns the heating on and wears warm socks...it goes hand in hand with weightloss and less calories intake!

I am sooo glad for those of you who responded. I really felt like I was losing my mind. I am typically the gal who sweats just thinking of the heat!!! I will absolutely take the cold, if it means weight loss.:straight

You'll learn to wear long sleeves if you will be indoors. You will start bringing a sweater or light jacket everywhere with you. This is very common.

I see that you had your band quite awhile ago. Your still cold? Wow.!! (I really don't think I will mind, as I am usually the 'oven type'.

And by the way, CONGRATULATIONS..... you are truely making great progress on your losses. I see you are very close to goal!! Good for you. Your are an inspiration.!!

I have noticed this and didn't check this site. I am much colder than I was before the band. I thought I was just old and the weather is cold. I also get hot easily though but that could be menopause. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who is freezing. This is a good sign for weight loss.

The more you lose, the more you will notice it. I used to hate the hot 100 degree plus Texas summers, but as of last year, really enjoy the outdoors again, and have come to really dislike the winters I used to wear shorts, and sandals in. I guess that comes with losing all that padding/ isulation.

(Not complaining, I'll take a little cold natured change over the fat)

18 months post op.

210 pounds lost, at goal!

Life is good!

I am right there with you all. I am cold all the time. I have never in my life been cold like this. I have lost weight many times before and never experienced this. I am not complaining at all!! I love it. I like bundling up much more than sweating like a pig. lol

This is very interesting and I am glad I know. I when i'm smaller next winter I will be able to wear my turtlenecks and sweatshirts and possibly even look good in many layers and not overstuffed.

thanks for the post. I am reading up as I am getting ready for the big day and what to expect

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
