What To Eat

Recommended Posts

Well my pouch is enlarged and so on that note I had to have all the saline taken out of my band for a rest for 2 weeks. I am wondering if anyone who has gone threw this has any good idea's on what to eat. That is without gaining a whole lotta weight. I was 157 now in a matter of 1 1/2 weeks I am 167 and very depressed about that big gain. Also what does everyone eat if you get hungry in between meals thats ok to have. I really am not suppose to eat in between meals per my doctor but I get real hungry sometimes. My days lately have consisted of 1 scrambled egg in the morning, for lunch 1 can tuna light mayo with onions no bread, and dinner well if there is a Protein on the table I will have that or make more tuna or egg salad no bread. I am tring to have Protein and keep it simple so that my pouch will shrink down to regular size so I can get tightened again. So on that note any suggestions.....................................

Thanks,

Cheryl

they wll probably give you some intructions, if your puch is enlarged they usually wnat you to go back to fluids/mushies etc and smal volumes like you did post op- they want you pouch to shrink again, it will not do that if you eat larger amounts- you may feel hungry like you did prefill but it is only short term and is worthit to get things to shrink down so that you can be refilled

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
