How many of you get asked if your sick with the dramatic weight loss? How do you feel about it? I'm a little worried about that. :/

That is why I have always been honest about my surgery. I never wanted people to question why I am looking thinner.

Ya, but I have a friend that got the surgery done and everyone knows it. She never kept it a secret and people still tell her she looks sick. One person recently told me she didn't like the way the weight loss made my friend look.. That it was a sick look rather then a healthy look.

Now, in my opinion I think my friend looks great. I'm just affraid too many people telling me I look sick.

i think its normal at the beginning, that after a few month we still look weired because the weight lose is not proportional and the face looks pale. but it all will go away. you have to be proud that you got this opportunity to do the surgery. you have to understand as well that when people know you as a big person and all of a sudden your face look thin as a fish, it looks weired to them. everyone will allways compliment you,.

My sister had RNY 18 months ago, she went way too far with the weight loss and looks sick. She is 50+ and her skin is hanging which makes her even look worse. I told her she would looke better with about 15-20 lbs back on. I don't want to look lilke a skeleton... I want to look healthy and what feels good and looks good on me.

I agree doodle, that was one reason I went back and forth on if I wanted the surgery cause I didn't want to lose to much weight. I've seen so many people who have had it and think they went a lil to far but also have seen so that look great. After I have surgery I still want to have curves cause that's sexy where I'm from but also healthy.

I think everyone has their own idea of what looks good. To some people looking really skinny is their ideal look. For me if I weighed what my height says I would fall over. I would be skin bones and boobs. Once you start getting to your ideal look you can ease up a little on the restrictions.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
