No' date=' I actually didnt join. I couldn't make the practices :/ are you doing it? When's your surgery? I'm 12/29 yikes![/quote']

Today was our 3rd week and we are divided into 2 groups: the joggers are with Dr. Tony and the walkers are w/Nancy and Jamie. I don't have a surgery date until my hematologist clears me for surgery. I have a final weigh in with Claudia on Monday---> nervous about that weigh in. Wow, your surgery date is near! I'm excited for you!

I just started my liquid diet today. I think I'm the most nervous to get through these 2 weeks especially with Christmas. I'm about to go get some sf Jello, hope it helps lol I wish I lived closer to make the practices! Do you go to any of the support group meetings?

Omg it's horrible!! lol it was soooo hard and today's not much fun either, but I did make an assortment of sugar free Jello last night so it's been a tiny bit more bare able. The trip to the store for jello was torturous lol and you'd never believe it, but this guy from my childhood hit me up on fb, said he'd seen me on someone's page and asked me to dinner tonight. Really?? Now? Unbelievable!! Ha!

No way! I hope you meet up with him and somewhere that doesn't really involve food. Too funny and cute at the same time.

Isn't that crazy?? I put him off of dinner for now, but we've been texting all day. The distraction helps with the liquids too! It's crazy how much things revolve around food... And to think I'm just starting on this journey... Kinda rules out dinner for awhile. Idk when/ if to tell him?!? Lol what timing! It's just crazy too... He teaches at our old high school and I teach at our old elementary school... :) Maybe this year will bring good things! When is the couch to 5k walk??

I think it's so lovely and crazy at the same time. I wonder how many other girls this has happened to? I'm happy that y'all are in contact and as for telling him, I don't have an answer to that. I'm positive that 2013 will be the year of good things to come for you! The walk is on Saturday, February 2nd at Reliant Stadium. I asked Dr. Tony on Saturday if we would be required to run and he said no. Can you and your classmate meet at a Starbucks?

Good idea, hopefully this week sometime. I promised we'd FaceTime when I get home later. I can't even imagine running a 5k! Maybe one day for me... You rock it girl!

In about 2 years, we'll be rocking the Houston Marathon. We are on the path to healthiness and deserve to do all what we couldn't do because of our weight!

Does anyone take ADHD meds or antidepressant meds? I had my surgery in January 2005. I have been on different meds for the above for the past 3 years. I was put on vyvanse and Zoloft and now I have severe anxiety and having to take Xanax and it doesn't seem to help with my anxiety.

Any help please. I have been feeling more tired and sad. Is there a forum for trouble with meds?

Thank you Sharon

Hi Sharon,

This is my first post. My surgery is Jan 8th. I take meds for both ADHD and depression.

My dr originally had me on Zoloft, and after one year it just stopped working! Maybe that is where your anxiety is coming from. I'm now on Pristiq and Wellbutrin, have been for about 2 years and doing great. Only time I get anxious is if I don't take my adderall or pms. He gave me some Ativan to pop if I get stressed, but I hardly ever take it. I'm worried the surgery and malabsorption will disrupt my mood. Did that happen to you?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
