I am so happy for all you guys and i wish my girl could think like you and try do something about her weight. I don't know how to make her understand that she need to loose weight without hurting her. All she want is me telling how beautiful she is, how sexy she is and stuff like that . Asking me every time when she wear something if it doesnt make her look fat or if this clothes doesnt show her stomach. All i want is her to take the decision herself. But she doesn't care. She just want me to love her like that or she will find someone to do it. I love her tho but not her body

Are you thinking about having surgery? Im sorry you feel that way, My hubby actually opposed me having surgery at first. HOwever I needed to feel healthy and look healthy. I asked him all the time do i look ok, do i look to fat.... i know where she is coming from. THe reason why i ask if you are having any surgery or if you are overweight is because Im sure after she sees how motivated you are in committing to a new lifestyle she might consider changing something as well. Hope things work out.

Hi bop,

I'm assuming you are talking about your girlfriend. It would be 100% to force her to do something so life changing when she is not ready. I would advise taking a nutrition class together, eat / cook healthy together, and exercise / take walk together. There is more you can do beside cheering on from the sidelines.

I think a nutrionist would be better for her.

I mean, at first i never thought ask her having surgery but things like eating healthy ,exercising together but when we started going to the gym she stop within a month. I look healthy, iam only 150lb, but she's like 249lb and not that tall. I just wish she could think like you and put her heart in it to try something to make thinks work out. I feel too small close to her.

Yeah, but i already tried cooking eating healthy and exercise together but she will always I feel like eating something sweet. And she's the number one fan of donuts. She wouldn't eat bad a front of me but she will still hide to do stuff like that.

Well surgery isn't a quick fix or easy way out. The Insurance requirements make sure you have exhausted all other options before you get to this point. I personally would not want to be with a guy who no longer saw me attractive because of my weight.

Even if she stops after a month, at least she tried. You can always rest a weekend start back up. I would try going to doctor to make sure their isnt any underline health problems and if not - I would suggest Therapy to find out what triggers the food and weight gain.

Just because you weigh a healthy size of 150 does not mean you are healthy. My niece weighs 110 and eats ice cream for Breakfast, lunch and dinner - she looks healthy but if she runs into health problems or her metabolism stops, she is going to be in trouble.

Also there are a lot of reports how most couples do not make it past WLS so if you push this on her and break up, you will feel really guilty.

I hope I was helpful.

Let me tell you about me. I'm a woman as you can see. It took having a knee problem breathing problem & no energy so I can see holy crap! I'm actually fat. Looking at my self nude in the Murrow lifting my tummy I broke down crying. Hubby careless how I look. All he wants it's food & sex.

Now issues begins.... You can't eat anyone. Your getting slim. Why why why.... I lovey self & don't wanna die.

Open her eyes. Let her see her self nude in the mirror. Don't say you don't love her body that's mean. You don't want her dying. You want her healthy. Get her help before it's too late.

Nutritionist or dietician. WLS is not the answer to everything. It's a really hard decision that only your girl friend can make. Also believe it or not. Some people just love food so much they don't wanna let go. You have to want to change your life.

I know you love her & are concern but she has to want to change for her & only her. You can't make her lose weight eat salad or nothing.

Talk to her & be honest but not rude or mean towards her.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
