MAC or PC

I use Firefox almost exclusively. It's only "almost" because I have to use it sometimes at work to verify compatibility with my client's software, and because there are still a few sites out there that just don't work right in FF.

Once you get used to FF, you'll start to LOVE their tabbing system, and I also love the extensions you can get. I actually have an extension that will open an IE window IN a Firefox tab. It's so cool.

Also, like Wheetsin said, if you post your components n' stuff, I'll have my fiance take a look and give his 2 cents on it as well.

Hi all,

Thanks for all the advice, and offers of assistance. I am so embarrassed about the dinosaur of a system that I am using.

I have a PC that was built by a local computer store. It has a P4(can't remember exactly what the speed is) Athlon processor, 240 MB of RAM, 40 Gig HDD, and I run (gasp!) Windows 98. I have an ethernet card and an external ADSL modem. I did have Norton Internet Security 2005, but got a lot of Lucomserver and Ccapp errors, so I installed System Mechanic Pro 6's antivirus program and that part has improved things. I bought SMP6 to try and fix some problems (but I think I need more RAM), but when it tries to fix HDD problems it seems to get stuck and doesn't go any further. The computer when I am on the net (I run IE and Outlook Express).

So, what's the verdict?

Thanks,

Laura

You do not have what you think you have. P4 is an Intel CPU and Athlon is a AMD PCU. You do not have both in your PC.

Download this little program by clicking on this link and then click "Save File"

After it is downloaded to your desktop, just click on it and it will tell what is installed on your PC. No installation required.

Thanks, this is very helpful.

Cool program. Ok, so I have an AMD Duron with a max speed of 1.3 GHz.

A 40 Gig Hard Drive, and 240 mb RAM. The rest is about the same.

Thanks,

Laura

I'm curious what kind of computer and which windows OS you have that you get the blue screen all the time.

The blue "screen of death" can also be a heat problem. Check to make sure your fan is working.

MAC!!!!

I have 3 macs in the house: a 17" iMac, a Mac Mini, and a 24" iMac. All hooked up wireless (and painless). I've been a Mac user for a long time. The first one I bought was a 3900.00 PowerMac (yikes!)

Good luck on your choice,

-Craig

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
