NO MORE DRAMA!!!!!!!

I thought this forum was supposed to be like an online support group...

For a lot of people this is our "happy place"....let's leave Facebook things in Facebook. Its no one's business who is dating who or why.

There's no drama. There are many different post on this website. We need to take the good with the bad. Sometimes in life we have other issues besides losing weight. When your spouse doesn't support your decision you don't feel good about your self. When you have marriage issues your sad & worried ect...

So there is no issue or drama.. everyone gave there view & point & we moved on so saying drama is like starting drama when this post have been peaceful lately.

No offense intended but this was my first time reading this thread, and it was the first thing I read this a.m. and it was reminiscent of watching a soap opera of which I quit watching over 15 years ago. Lol! So maybe I should've put some smiley faces in my post, to reflect my pleasant sarcastic wit that was meant to come through.: )...But for me this IS my happy place.: )...i am happy for everyone here. I am happy when others are happy and find a piece of happiness in such a cold cruel world!

No doubt that this is a happy place! Nirvana doesn't exist. it's what you make of a particular moment in time, after all that's what life is a series of moments!

Emphasis should have been on word "my"... I do make the most of every moment in time. Good luck and best wishes.

One of my favorite quotes... I think it's perfect for you Summer :)

“I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go' date=' things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.”

Omg Mary that is so sweet.....definitely going to copy this and put it on a fb status!

WOW!!! Is this a support forum for WLS or a dating site now?!?!??

Point is that we were just trying to share our happiness with all of you! This site brought us together and maybe it will do the same for others! I think it's a wonderful thing because we can be there for each other in ways that couples who havent both had surgeries!! To be honest I don't know what the big deal is that we shared our happiness here!!

This is a forum that covers every aspect of life after rny. There are so many changes that take place and it all ties in with the rny. I think this forum will also serve as a reminder to keep ourselves in check so to speak. See it lets us all know we are not perfect. Even if the weight is gone, our lives will still be affected by this. We are more than a support forum for rny, it's a family that enjoys sharing and asking advice on many subjects with the common denominator being the rny. This thread ties into it, but touches on other aspects of life. It's an amazing place. It's the place to go when you need advice or a shoulder. It's as I said before, our place of refuge. I lost the only friends I had because I chose this surgery, and I found better ones here!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
