Im feeling soooooo down right now. It is 1:15 in the morning and i can't sleep! So today i want to my regular doctor to tell him about a problem that i have been having. I have had very soft stool for about 4 months now. All stool samples came in totally fine. So now he wants me to see a specialist to see what the problem is. And he basically told me the my surgerydate (8/15) will be on hold till the can figure out whats going on :( I bursted into tears. I have to go out if state the whole month of july. So idk what is going to happen. I just want to know whats wrong with me!!!! Please god help me!!

Don't panic they just have to make sure everything's okay before they do that surgery. Believe me you don't want to have anything else going on while your recooping from surgery. Have you been eating different? Stress too can cause issues. Make sure you talk to doctor tell him your concerns.

Im thinking that it is IBS, but the doctor wants to make sure there is nothing else going on. Which i totally understand. Do you think if it is IBS that there will be a problem with doing the surgery?

Shouldn't be a problem my doctor and surgeon both knew about me having IBS and still recommended surgery for me. Matter of fact it was used as way to get my surgery approved threw insurance company.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
