Heading towards week 3-looking to NOT stall

Recommended Posts

I know that stalls are inevitable, but I am so happy right now I do not want to stall yet. Tomorrow is the start of my 3rd week and I want to prevent a stall if that is possible. I have monthly goals and I know that the sleeve is just a "tool" and not the answer. I will continue to measure all my food out. Weigh myself in the morining, and make sure that my fitbit says 10,000 steps.

On wednesday I should get cleared for exercise. I know where I failed in the past (life before sleeve) I wont let that happen again. My doctor gave my 6 colored pictures of my insides (gall bladder, stomach before and after and all the mounds of belly fat!) those pictures are my motivator. It has been such a long time since I felt this good and I am only just begining my journey! :D

Many people stall but not all. I haven't stalled yet at 8 weeks. I have no clue why some do and some don't. However, I only lose 2 lbs a week. Slow and steady.

Wish I had pix like that, an excellent motivator.

I stalled weeks 4-5 for no reason - I was following the plan, not cheating... it just happens! But the last few weeks its coming off again. Don't get down if you do stall - just keep working the program.

I am sure I will stall. I just hope it is later. I am a slow loser which I am cool with. I don't drop huge numbers but I expected that. As long as I am dropping something.

I am 2.5 months out and I haven't stalled yet. Like NMJG, I am losing slow and steady but I always have a loss at the end of the week. It might be 4lbs , it might be 1 but I haven't stopped losing. There is no point obsessing, especially if it hasn't even happened. :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
