Hello to my fellow sleevers, I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing what I've been for the past two months. I was sleeved May 20th at Lenox Hill Hospital in NYC and for the past two months, I've been CRAVINGGG sugar which is so unlike me because I was more of a steak, potato and cheese kind of girl. Is anyone else going through this?

Yes. I have been craving sugar. I've also started to get the shakes and feel physically ill if I'm hungry. I don't know if they are connected or not.

I am always in need of salt since I was sleeved..lots of salt....don't know why...I detoxed from everything in the hospital...But the only time I want something sweet is when I am worn out and exhausted....Protein would be a better choice..Sweets is a quick fix.....

When you get the shakes most likely it is your blood sugar plummeting... Protein and piece of cheese something small will work far better then sugar...Sugar is a quick fix but it plummets and you shake even more...protein, Protein, protein....k

I used to get this! My hands would start shaking and I felt like I was going to pass out if I didn't eat something quick!

About a year before surgery I cut out all sugars (real and fake) because of food addiction issues but low and behold the weakness and shakes went away... Now of course right after surgery it's hard to avoid some fake sugar. But its a good thing to wean back off when you get further out.

I. Know easier said than done :)

This is so me! I have never had a sweet tooth. Since surgery, I'm craving sweets like crazy! Even cave on occasion and have some bad for me sugary treats. I'm hoping it's just a phase cause these sugary treats are sliders for sure : (

I didn't say I was indulging in the sugar but I have been craving it lately :D I eat 80-100 g of protein a day.

Sorry I was not attacking you..This is a real symptom of a condition call Anorexia. I was just concerned that you might be one of the ones who suffer from this...I just mentioned it.....putting it out there sorta....

No worries. I do get shaky at times and I eat or drink and it goes away. I average about 1000-1200 calories a day.

With me its been salty stuff. I want to crunch down on some salty fries or chips so bad. I'm 5 weeks out. I did give in and had a little green olive earlier. It tasted really good which nothing tastes good anymore and it didn't make my new tummy hurt so that's good.

Thank you for your replies ladies, I thought I was the only one. I'm not gonna lie, I've been having Hershey miniatures here and there, higher salt intake, low Protein and caloric intake so of course I've been stalling for quite some time now also. My SW was 271 and my CW hovers between 206-210 since my surgery May 20th. I need to get it together and get back on track cause I didn't put my body through all of this trauma to stall or gain. Best of luck to ALL of us:)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
