Hot all the dang time!

Recommended Posts

I'm having surgery on Nov 13th. I'm 6' 290 lbs and burning up all the time! I sweat like crazy and it drives me nuts. Have any of you experienced relief from this when losing weight?

Oh yeah. As a matter of fact, about 6 months out, I started being cold all the time. And I'm not talking just cold, but so cold my wife wouldn't let me touch her. She was always on me before surgery to warm her up, but then ...

That lasted about a year and now I am relatively balanced in the heat department. Sometimes a little cool, sometimes a little hot. I would like to consider myself "normal" now in that department.

I was always hot and sweaty took me so long to cool off after entering buildings. That was before surgery. Now I'm as cold as a fridge. I always bring a jacket and my fingers are like icicles. My surgeon says it's quite normal I really thought I had anemia for a while.

I will throw a huge party if this goes away. It's probably the number one stressor in my life right now. I wear a suit and when I walk into a business I can't be all sweaty and nasty. I actually try to plan meetings where it is cool. Crazy..

I have been the same pre op but now since loosing 70lbs life is much cooler. I used to hate Summer or just heat period I would be standing in my own pile of sweat and nothing was ever cold enough. Now I often freeze to death because I have lost my Water cooler stomach..... I was 316 Im down to 245 lbs in just 2 months. I hope you have the same results.

Same! Before I was so disgustingly sweaty - it was embarrassing. A few times I would break out in sweat, like at a wedding or party and I would be drenched all over. Almost immediately after surgery I have been really cold - even more than my wife. I am the one turning on the heater. I sleep with my electric blanket on - and I live in CA!

Wasn't that worst! I do that and it's so uncomfortable and so embarrassing. I'll do anything to get over that feeling.

I was hot all the time as well pre-op but really didn't sweat much unless I exercised. Since the surgery, I'm a little cooler now, but I wouldn't say I'm cold all the time......wish I was.

What you're gonna notice after losing some weight is that you feel colder in places you were once comfortable.

if you are hot then you are dehydrated and you need to drink more Water. it happens just after surgery as well. Drink more water, it works.

unfortunately I am not feeling colder. on the plus side i tolerate the heat much better and dont sweat as early or as much and cool down faster, but i still like a very cold office and home. My feet do feel colder but that is about it. HOpefully the window of opporutinity has not closed and it will come. My wife and i are about 6 degrees apart from our comfort zones and it woudl be nice to narrow that a bit.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
