Hello, my nsme is Peggy and I stsrted the 6 month ptocess @ the end of Aug BCN of MI requies it. They call it supervised nutrition counseling. They dont require certain lbs 2 lose. I went to seminar first. I have seen a nurse practioner, dietician(did I spell that right), 1 doc who lets u know what tests u need b4 surgery and I had my phych eval. I also saw an exercise specialist who just wants me 2 add exercise slowly. I have 2 go back in Nov to go over my results 4 phych eval.

I'm hoping that all of out time fly by quickly and we all have a successful surgery. I wish I would have started this early this year but I'm now doing the count down for my last three months .i am required to loose 20 pounds in 6 months so far I am down 10 .

I started my six months at the end of Aug too. I've done just about everything except the pulmonary function test, which I'm scheduled to do that next week. I have no Idea what's next, I guess I should call and find out.

Not weird at all. That's how I feel about crystal light. My surgeon said I can drink those pre and post-op. Those count as part of your fluid requirements. Of course, plain water is best, but if you can't stomach it the flavored stuff is fine. I personally love water and drink it all day long, something I consider very lucky since I know a lot of people do not like it. Talk to your nutritionist. I'm sure you are not the first person to have that problem!

I am going in for my Endoscopy tomorrow. UGH, not looking forward to that. I am hoping they can go ahead and take my blood panel too. (since I can't eat for the endoscopy) and cant eat or drink for the blood work. fingers crossed.

CONGRATS! good work.

This is slightly off topic for this thread, but I wanted to mention something because you said you are a teacher. I would use that to your advantage. My sister is a teacher and had the surgery over a year ago and because she is a teacher, she put pressure on the schedulers to make it work with her schedule (she was able to move up her surgery to make it fit within the summer break) it seems if you are willing to be flexible with scheduling, then they can work with you rather easily
