I'm Afraid of Bread...

Recommended Posts

I'm almost 5 years post sleeve and even nowi just don't eat yeasty bread much because it does seem to "puff" up. It never hurt, but made me feel full very fast. I can eat Middle Eastern flat bread. Pasta also fills me up fast too. Listen to your body, if you feel full, then you are. Stop eating when you get that feeling. I used to love love love bread but now it does not bother me not to eat it.

I can now add Reduced Fat Triscuits with Laughing Cow cheese to my list of "food bricks".

This may be worse than Pasta and I only ate 2 crackers!!!

I can eat more wheat thins then triscuits... But don't have problems with none of the crackers. I make sure I don't exceed 6 wheat thins though.. And they aren't a slider for me

I tried bread today. Rosemary and olive oil crusty bread, dipping it in broccoli and cheese Soup. Yummy but full almost immediately.

I do 1 slice is Sara Lee 40 calorie wheat bread, so a half sandwich, usually tuna, egg salad or pb&j. It's very filling, but doesn't always hurt me. Toasted sometimes helps. I can do whole wheat Pasta and brown rice, but not often. I usually make a Breakfast rice, with bacon and eggs for some extra Protein. I have no problem with tortilla chips and salsa, but have to be very careful with a tortilla. Usually do carb smart wheat tortillas and they are small but can only eat 1.

I tried bread again today and it didn't work out. I broke up a small piece into my stew... Almost instant discomfort.

Bread and Pasta are a no go for now. It's probably best.

me too. I love the Kashi crackers instead , small, easy to digest. i try to bite a third of a cracker at a time. sometimes i put laughing cow light chipotle cheese spread- very low in calories. serves as a reasonable snack mid day.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
