Me too!!! And my appointment is tomorrow also. Are u having any trouble eating ot drinking? I'm not at all. I can drink 2 cups of broth....with a spoon so I feel like I'm eating....at a time. I'm supposed to move to thicker stuff after the appointment but I'm going to see if they will let me incorporate some soft foods too. Fingers crossed....but probably not! :)

Yes I can eat it feels like normal. I'm afraid to over do it so I never drink enough to feel overly full just content. I'm out of my chocolate shake powder and the vanilla ones suck. I made some Protein ice cream I'll list the recipe below but damn I want some chocolate and some chicken. I am still having cravings and was told they would cease after surgery with the hormones. I also feel like I'm hungry all the time.

Protein ice cream:

1/3 cup h2o

1/3 cup coconut cream (</= to sugar and fat than skim milk for flavor)

1 1/2 scoop vanilla Protein Powder

1/2-1 cup of ice

Blend well.

It's like a shake alternative but the cream gives it that different texture. Still didn't suffice my craving.

Sleeve sisters!

I got bored with the fluids too, but remember that soon it will be a distant memory, and you need to do it to help your body heal. broth was probably the best at killing hunger for me.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
