Shaving armpit - silly but serious question

Recommended Posts

I'm 4 lbs from my goal weight and I'm running into issues shaving. When I was heavy, I had no problem shaving under my arms with all the fat pushing the skin out so it was a smooth shave - now..... there is a caved in area I have tried to reach for weeks and cant. Glad no one is watching me in the shower twisting turning and bending my arm so I can shave. Instead of one hand shaving one armpit, it now takes two and I'm still not doing a great job.. any suggestions?

Trying waxing. So smooth, and you don't have to worry about it.

Who knew, right?! I'm so glad you asked. I actually have been wondering the same thing! Now I know why it is called an arm"pit". I end up pulling the skin forward so that it is more on the bone than in the deepest part of the underarm. I also lower my arm while shaving so that the under arm is more flat rather than sunken in. I also am trying to find those silk effects razors so I can get in there without cutting myself up. Ah, to have skinny people problems!! Joy. :-)

Thanks everyone for the advice! I havent used veet because of sensitive skin. Its like scid on me and eats bits of my skin in seconds. Thanks for the compliments too!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
