Alternative options – other than surgery

Recommended Posts

I'm planning on having the sleeve in a week. One of my concerns – grant it, a very small concern compared to the surgery and weight-loss process is my skin. Does anyone have any lotions or products in that realm of things that they've tried when it comes to nourishing your scan with the hopes that it will try to rebound as best as possible? I predict coconut oil does amazing things but, there's a wide variety of levels of products as well as different ones with different ingredients. I'm trying to find the purest form possible without spending an arm and a leg.

I'm open to any and all ideas and suggestions… Thanks a bunch

Coco butter is good too. Everyone want have loose skin issues. It depends on how long you been over weight. My fear was loose skin too. I am nine months out and has reached my dr goals but 15 from my goal and so far my arm is the only place that is loose. I hate it, ai have started. Lifting five pounds weight to hopefully tone them. I saw a woman you tube of her before and after pics and she lifted weights and it made a difference. I still have a stretch marks on my arm but I wear half sleeves to cover it and most tee shirts cover it too. I was going to get the arm surgery but it leaves an ugly long scar on the back of the arm. Plus when I researched it said May have nerve damage, I don't want to go thru no more surgery. Good luck! Congrats on your journey of joining the losers bench soon!

The purest form for your skin is drinking lots and lots of water! Can't get any pure then that! It also helps you to flush out your fat faster. Coconut oil is great for your skin...so that is a great idea....also exercise helps so much! I have reached my goal, and my arms, thighs, neck and legs all look great....I have a little extra skin on my upper arm, but nothing that keeps me from wearing tank tops.

My tummy looked awful because I had three children, each giving me more stretch marks every pregnancy....it was so bad that I could stand up straight and couldn't see my hoo-ha in the mirror! Lol! My breasts also need some work because they look like they were blown up balloons filled to the top, then someone let a hole bunch of air out! Hehe! The only other area that didn't fare to well was the sides of my butt cheeks. I had some wrinkling. I say had because I just had a Tummy Tuck yesterday, and from what I can see now I got some extra bonuses out of it....my skin isn't wrinkled on the sides of my butt cheeks anymore, my thighs got a little lift, and my pubic area got a lift from it as well! Anyhow, I hope you have a nice easy surgery, and an even better recovery! Good luck to you, and feel free to pm me for any questions. :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
