Just wanted to say hi

Hello. I got my band placed in Oct. 06. Things have been going ok. Recently I found myself eating way too much and the weight loss has stopped. I've lost 20 lbs. so far, but I expected much more. I go for my second fill tomorrow, so hopefully the doctor will reassure me that I'm doing ok. I am from St. Louis, MO and my surgery was done by Dr. Van Wagner. The surgery went smooth and I haven't had any side effects. I'm just frusted how everything has stopped. You invest so much money and stress, you expect results. I know it will come, I just have to be patient. Anyway, I'm glad to have found a support group. I am hoping this will help. Have a great week!

Welcome Ginny. I'm glad you found this site. You'll find a ton of information, answers, and support.

Don't worry, it's normal to struggle a bit with food until your band is adjusted well. It took me several months to get there. Try to stay positive and remember that it took a while to gain this weight and it will take some time to get it off.

Again, welcome and keep your head up.

Hello Ginny,

Welcome to the bandsters! Do not get discouraged, you will face nothing that someone else in here hasn't already gone thru hon. The band is merely a tool and the fills and correct restriction is what makes it work. So hang in there and keep us posted! Come here when you need to talk and vent...lol.....or just to get a hugggggggggggggggg!

Thank you. I actually saw my surgeon today and got a fill. He said it may take a few more times until I find the right restriction. I was just under the impression and you only needed 1 fill and that was it. He expects me to notice a big difference after this fill. I'll let you know. Thanks again!
