anyone else just get done with preop appointments and waiting for approval?

Recommended Posts

That's so exciting !! I started researching about the surgery 3 years ago but finally got started on the process last month and have my last pre op appointment on Monday. I'm very excited for it to be the last appointment , and then after that point its waiting for approval which I hope doesn't take long at all !! I'm hoping to have the surgery around December time because i am in school and it happens to be my longest break .. I'm hoping that everything from Monday on out happens pretty quickly !!

I am in college and we only have Christmas Eve and Christmas day off, but Im planning on taking about a week off and just doing my work at home then going back sooner than expected because all we do is sit and learn, lol Good luck with all your stuff!! YAY

I know what you mean, I have been at this since Feb and I just got approved! Now waiting for my surgeons office to let me know if they can get me in before Jan, apparently my surgeon is a very busy man! lol

. I have been "scheduled" for 10/21 almost a month. At my pre-op appointment Friday my navigator says she'll call to check on approval. I was wondering what the wait was... Still haven't heard. Good luck - I hope you hear soon!

Im sure you wont have to wait till January, I do because I happen to pick the busiest surgeon around ( not knowing) and therefore, I am begging to be squeezed in! Good luck and hope you get in soon and enjoy your vacation in January too!!! And youre right, they rush you and give you deadlines to finish everything and then once you are done they procrastinate. Its frustrating actually!!

Finished all my pre-op 1 Oct. Was told that my surgical office just got all the paperwork and they submitted to my insurance company. On a time crunch with this whole surgery because I am suppose to start a new job 4 Nov. I don't know if it will all happen in time.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
