I'm just over two weeks out and on full liquids. Finding it kinda surprising that I can eat about 5 oz of greek yogurt with no problem at all. Is this due to the soft consistency? I'm just wondering why I'm not feeling stuffed by this volume? I haven't tried anything dense so am assuming that will be completely different experience. Should I limit my yogurt to 2 oz or go ahead and eat the container?

You probably won't feel restriction until you get to solid foods. You should figure out a portion size that satisfies you. I never eat too feel full that was my mistake before surgery, now I measure my portions out and just east to be satisfied. Good luck

I had the same thing. the greek yougurt was the easiest to eat as well as scrambled egg (after the Fluid stage) yet other things like pureed meats, pudding , refried Beans were difficult. your stomach will tell you what you can have. for me yogurt saved me becasue i was having a tough time getting enough Protein.< /p>

Eat as much yogurt as you want and need to supplement any other sources of Protein and fluids to meet your requirements. Just make sure it is nonfat Greek yogurt and has no added sugar or fruit. When on liquids, I drank no Protein Drinks and got most of my protein from Greek yogurt. There was no specific limit on how much I could have at any one time. This was sanctioned by my nutritionist.

Wow, I didn't know that. I've only had one per day. I will bump that up now. This will help my Protein a lot!

This is the post I meant to quote... I didn't know I could eat more than a small amount of things like yogurt.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
