Prior to surgery, I gave up my coffee and iced tea (the good stuff with the caffiene) and now, I'm three weeks post op....can I have my iced tea again?

I asked my coordinator - who said yes - but, I think she thought I was talking about Decaf iced tea...

As with the rest of our diets, it's doctor and/or facility specific. Mine is completely fine with me having unsweet tea, but my program coordinator says no.

I listen to the person I let cut me. LoL

As I sit here drinking my half regular half Decaf morning cup of joe..

I say wait and talk to your surgeon about it.

I took up drinking it again (though only half strength) but I waited months!

I also know that it's risky, dehydration and I went to a support meeting recently and talked to a woman that developed an ulcer (painful) and coffee might have been a contributing factor..

I am approaching 15 days post op and my Nutritionist said I could have Chike iced coffee mix with milk if I limit it to one a day... And that was starting at ten full liquid stage day 8. That's 20 grams of Protein with 2 espresso shots. I was pretty surprised but am going to limit it to a "treat" here and there. It went down fine (sipped it for 2 hours while at work) and i didn't have an upset tummy. Every program is different...that is for sure!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
