Hooray my stall is over

Recommended Posts

Well yesterday was my one month anniversary of getting my sleeve. For four days I stalled at 301 (I was 331 on the day of surgery. Well I weighed myself this morning and I am at 296! I finallly am under 300 pounds. I have not been there in years. My 46 pants are falling off of me and I am on 1/8 my regular dose of BP meds. I checked my BP this morning and my BP was 90/56. I think I will be completely off the BP meds this week. I can't wait to see what my cholesterol it.

I have only had problems with Constipation. I just had a BM after over a week. Does anyone have a recommendation on what laxative they take which does the job but does not cause severe cramping?

Thanks, Mark

I like Miralax. :) It's very gentle, and you can take it daily for a very long time with no harmful effects. It can take a few days to start working on me, but it's worth it to not deal with the icky cramps other laxatives tend to cause. Just make sure you drink a lot of Water, since it works by drawing water into the bowels.

Congrats! I recently read a blog post in which the person recommended that sleevers eat a small portion of raisins each day to keep things moving. She said one of those little kid-size boxes of Sun Maid raisins was perfect for her.

Hey Shells, It sounds like you are pre-surgery like me? Good tip on the raisins. I will for sure remember this.. it is an on going problem for me. How do you make friends on here? I just joined? I'm removing my Lapband, Than having the Sleeve Done. Their will be 3 months in between. Talk soon I hope.

Congrats! The Constipation gets better (at least it did for me) as time went on. I never took anything but I could definitely go 4-5 days with nothing :D

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
