Husband got tickets to the Mariners game tonight. I said I'd go. And now it's 7:00 and he just left without me because my f'ing stomach is nauseous and I feel crappy and I'd rather not risk bowel excitement at a baseball game with all his new coworkers.

I have had no social life this summer, I miss doing fun things (hell, anything!) with my husband and we're leaving in 2 weeks for long-planned 2 weeks in France. I'm afraid I'm going to ruin the trip because I can't eat, can't drink and can't seem to stay feeling good for more than a few hours at a time.

I am really really hating my sleeve right now. I know I know this too shall pass but I'm so miserable and pissed off and tired of staying home and ruining any occasion to do something interesting.

That's my rant. Gonna go take some more anti-nausea meds and see if they'll knock me out.

Life will be SO different in 2 weeks though. I've recovered from illnesses before. But this sleeve recovery is something all together different. Recovery is exponential, not linear, day by day. Two weeks in France in two weeks will be a delight. Sorry about the missed game :(

Just looked at your profile - Week 4 and such great results!! I have to say, it does get easier. Week 7 vs. Week 4 - there is a world of difference.

Gamergirl is right on point - take it day by day. Your trip to France will be enjoyable and you will have so much more energy then.

Best of luck on your trip!

Thanks ladies. I've got my pouty face on tonight. Probably just as well I'm home alone AGAIN.

And from your lips to my sleeve: it better get exponentially better or I'll stamp my feet and really rant and rave come Sept. 7!

If it's any consolation, the Mariners are losing right now 2 to 0. You'll feel better and will soon be able to go and do a lot of things.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
