Thanks guys! I had to take a well deserved yogurt break just now :D

I actually had fun. And I already set up a "date" with my husband to do it again next week!

I felt guilty at first because he does hard core single track mountain biking. So I thought he would be bored to tears doing it with me. But we had a good time. I'm still learning the gears and my legs feel like jelly but I feel like I did something big!

Oh and butter yes padded shorts are in my future :D

You are awesome!! I love to bike, but mountain biking scares the crap outta me... I just see myself hitting one tree root and slamming to the ground..ha!

Way to be adventurous!

I have to admit it scared the crap out of me too!

My husband and his friends do scary trail jumps and tricks then post them to YouTube (geeks:p)

The falls they take are big and painful sometimes.

So yeah I was scared but he took me on an easy trail. I almost fell once or twice (tree root and ditch) but it was fun, especially the down hill!

Oh but I might add I'm already getting sore!

Ask me tomorrow if I still like it :P

Wait a second....did I read that correctly....you had fun???? Exercising???? Congrats! That is awesome!

I suggest doing some stretches for your legs and glutes, even though it will probably hurt it will help.

One day, maybe just maybe, you will even enjoy the soreness you feel after a workout! I know that's pushing it but you never know it could happen.:)

A really good stretch you can do with your hubs is to lay on your back, keep on leg straight on the floor. Lift the other leg straight up against his chest (he is kneeling on the floor facing you) and have him push it forward. I LOVE this stretch, you should feel it in the back of your legs and glutes. Breath while you are stretching and you will get a better stretch. Usually when it starts to hurt we want to stop breathing and tense up if you breath through it you will stretch farther.

Also, stretch your arms and chest. You are probably going to feel soreness there tomorrow from being tense while you were riding.

Ok, I'm done now! :)

Mmh. Hot shower before bed.

Sounds like a great day! I'm jealous! I just have a townie bike, but is sure is a lot easier riding it at 135 than it was at 254!

And my ass hurts! :P

But the good news, is that I did it!

7.8 miles 450 elevation change (thanks strava)

and I LIVED, oh and it was fun.

Me too! I went this evening and it was close to 100 degrees here in TX lol oh well. I had fun too. You will def like biking shorts. The pads really help. Also be warned it may hurt a little next week when you ride again.

I am proud of myself bc I fell off my bike or the first time ever last Tues. I have been riding for years and had never taken a spill. Guess I was lucky. My shoulder was hurt in the fall but I said I can't let a little shoulder pain slow me down!!!

By the way my hubby rides and does all those harder trails too but he says he enjoys riding with me anyway! I am still on beginner trails, not sure if I'll ever progress, no need to throw obstacles in a clumsy person's way lol

Glad you had fun and hope you keep at it :)

I have to say I'm surprised I didn't fall because I usually do even if we are hiking!

I only have a cruiser bike so I took my daughters bike.... My husbands bikes are way to big but my daughters was too small. So a new bike for me said the husband today. I'm hoping it will be even better on a bike that fits!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
