Sleeve after bypass

Recommended Posts

Then why are you here? This whole exchange started because you made an insensitive comment and I called you out on it. I thought perhaps I could provide a different point of view that might cause you to at least rethink your judgement of others.

My mistake...

Why am I here. For specific and factual information for my post op mostly. And as far as my post, I don't need to rethink anything. 1. She got a bypass. 2. she lost the weight. 3. she gained it all back. Those are the facts. The surgery worked. She failed. It happens. My comments aren't meant to judge.

You speak of a different point of view, yet you're indifferent to anyone else's viewpoint. I didn't post with the intention of changing anyone's viewpoint anymore than they would change mine. But the facts are that NO surgery, including the Switch will work without the efforts of the patient after surgery.

It's also possible that if she did choose to get yet another surgery, that stroking her past failure might not really help, but maybe she would try harder just to prove my viewpoint wrong.

Again......you all do what you want and I'll do my thing. That said.. Ya'll have a nice day.

Who said she didn't put any "EFFORT" forth in her past surgery. And if you hadn't missed it many here have had second surgeries and are successful. Hence all the band to sleeve revisions. And RnY is not the most drastic surgery....that would be the DS. There are more ppl than you know that go on to that surgery. Check out some of the other forums. It's what ever works for you. I for one will never go back to where I have been. If I have to go forth and have a second surgery to prevent that...I will. And so should anyone else if they have done all the work for it. If you have done your head work and know what's right for you, why not? Why be judgmental and not offer support to someone who is in a position you maybe in later? Who knows where you will be in 17 years? You may have had the sleeve and be well on your way to regaining a big percentage of your weight back. Wouldn't you want support? Wouldn't you want further options?

Lookin4change,

Well, it looks like my one comment has managed to derail your topic. That was not my intention. I apologize for that and will refrain from any further posts here so it can get back on track. Best of luck to your sister.

Recycled it seems like whenever you come out of the men's room to post you piss of a whole lot of women (and men I'm sure)...

You know when you finally get your surgery, you might understand where these people are coming from a bit more....

Everyone, please remember to be respectful of one another.

OP, to definitively answer your question, yes, it is possible and people have had success with it.

I just love my rosé colored glasses, I'm wearing them right now. In fact, if I didn't wear my rosé colored glasses, I'd be done killed somebody. I think everybody needs a pair of rosé colored glasses.....and a glass of wine doesn't hurt either.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
