Yes I was hating my life the first 6 days. It gets better everyday. Just sip sip sip and walk walk walk.

I'm 3 days post-op and I wish I could take it all back! I can't get enough Water in or Protein so I'm always tired and my left shoulder has some gas trapped in it and there is no comfortable position. Anyone else like me?

Totally understand where you are coming from. I am 10 days post op today & I feel much better. Still have air in my left shoulder as well, when I burp or hiccup I feel it most. I wasn't able to get any fluids either, but it is so much better now. I notice everyday that I am able to get more & more down. I still miss food, chewing, & a different taste! But I do understand that I won't be stuck on liquids forever, I will be able to have real food soon... It's rough.... I actually posted on here too a few days after, saying I regret it..... It's rough, I promise it gets easier! Good luck!

I am three wks out and understand exactly how you feel. I went thru the "why did I do this" and thought that I made the biggest mistake but when I look at the scale and my clothes are fitting loosely, it all comes together. It is normal to feel the way you do......its just emotions. But believe me when I tell you that it WILL pass. You will look back and be amazed at how far you've come in such a short amount of time.

I also have regrets at times, even though I am 16 days out, but it's just the emotional part of it for me, cuz eating was how I comforted myself so now I have to find some other way to do that instead of shoving my emotions down my throat. I had a crying spell last night, but I felt better afterwards. I believe it's just going to be a process for me, and I am so looking forward to an egg on the 27th. Hang in there it will get a little better everyday.

I'm 4 days out and I feel the same way. Since yesterday I been feeling regret of the whole thing. I'm very uncomfortable. I'm sleeping in a recliner so im not flat and makes it easier to get up. I feel really cold like I have a fever and check my temp constantly. I hope this week goes by fast and hope its like you all said and gets better.

I am also uncomfortable and very moody. My mom is here helping me take care of my 5 year old. I am very greatfull but it seemes that everything she says is like a command and I'm getting really irritated. I'm not happy about it but I can't help it. :(

Thank you everyone for your words of encouragement. I am trying to focus on the positive rather than the negative (which is hard when you're in pain) today was a little better but I am very dizzy so I'm sipping down my Water as much as I can.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
