favorite NSV's/most anticipated NSV's

My biggest NSV is feeling comfortable. It is easier to do pretty much anything, but the thing that makes me the happiest is being close to my husband. At over 400 lbs, the last thing I wanted to do was snuggle, because I felt smothered by my own body. Now we can get much closer, and it's great!

I have a new NSV as of today I'm a great aunt again, I'm looking forward to doing so many more things with her that I miss out on because of my weight, surgery in December as she grows i'll be shrinking...

LOL' date=' this reminds me of the "coffee" scene from Moscow on the Hudson, where Robin Williams has a breakdown in the grocery store because he can't handle the huge selection of coffee available.[/quote']

I can relate to this. There are far too many choices of clothing now. I'm paralyzed with the over abundance of choices. I realize I don't know anything about fashion. I look at clothing on the rack and I wonder if that is suitable for a 44 year old man or is it for 20 year olds. I have no idea about some things. I don't wanna be that guy wearing kids clothes...trying to be hip.

As far as an unexpected NSV.....I've been washing under my belly roll over all my life every time I take a shower. I'm 4 weeks post TT and that belly roll over is long gone....but I'm still trying to wash underneath it. I feel like one of those people that lost a limb but keeps forgetting it's gone.

Butter, I have that apprehension as well. One of my coworkers lost a lot of weight and forgets to wear pants sometimes - I feel like I can see inappropriate on other people, but have no idea how to detect it on myself! Clearly after I have surgery I'll be posting a lot of, "Does this make me look ridiculous?" pictures on the board! :D

I've had a pannus since age 11... I have no idea what it will be like without one...It's just part of my body that I'm so used to now I can't imagine not having it.. .I actually have two sticks of deodorant.. one for my pits and one for under my roll.... TMI? perhaps, but it will be nice to downgrade to only one stick of deodorant and some point! I guess I can add that to the list of NSVs I'm looking forward to.

I think a huge one for me had just been the energy and how well I'm sleeping. I have a cpap that I don't wear like I'm supposed to and recently my husband said to me you know you don't snore anymore you are freaking me out with how quiet you sleep. Also I am not breathing so hard so other people have said. These may not be huge to everyone else cut they are for me.

I had an NSV today, I started at 474+ lbs, I'm down 220 lbs, a friend threw me off balance today, she is a good 20 lbs heavier then I am now days... I've always been able to stand my ground...

I wear an XL tshirt and not only do I not have to stretch them before putting them on, but the are lose!!

I'm excited to see the number 254 even though it is the starting weight oh so many of my support group members!

I actually have to turn down hand me downs because they would be too big for me.

I bought a pair of pantyhose that did not have an "X" in the size!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
