Chief of surgery of a hospital and its alway i dont know why you had a stroke... Your potassium is low though so get your potassium in... Internet says low potassium can cause strokes....i excessive saliva very sticky and gross constantly filling pitchers with spit and or vomit of foamy saliva..... Doesnt know where that comes from either.... Girl on you tube, i track her story now while i was searching for excessive saliva with esophagus stent and her story us the same as mine with the stent as well as a man with cancer with a stent... i am 14 months post op. if we are honest' date=' i think that we all have that "what the hell did i do to myself" moment. i had it for a very brief time, and i am 'that sleever' that everyone hates. i had no complications, only 1 throw up (because i tried to do a whole serving of broth in 5 minutes 2 weeks out) and a pretty quick recovery. so, if someone like me had it, i can truly understand someone with any complications having it.

however, at 14 months out, my life is much better. i am 20 pounds away from what my surgeon told me was a 'lofty' goal. i am smaller than i was when i graduated high school, but i don't have that 'crack addict, sick' look. i am able to do all of the things that i couldn't but wanted to. and i eat like a normal person. i don't always make good food choices, but i always stay on track, because, i didn't do this for temporary weight loss. i did it to change me life. and it has helped me take control.

hopefully, you will learn what is causing your problem, and be able to use this to be a happier you. i truly hope that you come to love it as much as i have.

good luck in your journey.[/quote']

Love this story!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
