Mine is a cheapo digital. It's worked great for many years. I'd save your money unless its that important to you. Use it as a reward to losing.

I'm 4 months post op and weigh myself only once weekly. I've never had a "stall" because I am able to see trends...every 4 weeks I don't lose. Obviously it's a hormonal thing. Weighing every day plays mind tricks. People go just a few days without losing and think they are at a stall. What happens when you gain? You stop eating, right? Then you stop losing because you don't take in enough calories. It's a vicious cycle!

I also take my measurements every 4 weeks. (I've lost 8 inches from my waist!!)

I get on the scale everyday too, it usually motivates me but at this point I think I need to stop for a while. I'm almost 2 weeks post op but the for the last almost week the scale has stopped. The bad thing is, it stopped where I would plateau prior to being sleeved. ???? I'm thinking maybe because I'm still on full liquids and only getting around 300-350 calories per day my body thinks its starving? Not really sure though. ????

Cheer bear' date='

How is your diet! Starting, surgery and current weight? Your situation interests me because I had surgery June 20 my starting weight was 191 and I am only at 185- 5 weeks out! Sooooooo frustrated. What do your doctors tell you?[/quote']

Sounds like you started out a light weight - under 200 lbs. so you may not lose weight as fast as others who are heavier. How much do you have to lose?

Looks like I might have hit my stall. I've been at the same weight for two days. Not even a .1. Oh we'll. Time to hunker down and do everything by the book.

I wish I hadn't been obsessed with the scale early on. What it really does is make this process negative, when its actually spectacular. When you weigh yourself every day and sometimes you will loose a lb here and a lb there, but you dont really ever see big number drops like you did early on so you think your stalling or not loosing quick enough. I track weight and calories on MFP and when back a couple of weeks ago and looked at how much weight I had lost in month 1, 2, and 3. I lost 18 lb the first month, 16 lb the second month, and 12 lb the third month for a total of 46 lb. All that time I complained and complained about my "stall". I was never stalling it was just the scale only shows fractions of lb lost every day or every few days and it ends up feeling like your not loosing much. Nearly 50lb in 3 months is not stalling. All I did by weighing all the time is take the joy and accomplishment out of loosing, and turned into yet another negative obsession like I used to do with food.< /p>

This is sooo true! I weigh about 8-10 times per day. I'm miserable. The scale hasn't moved in almost 3 weeks. But when I look at it, I've lost 27lbs in a month and 37 since pre op diet!! i would have neverrrr been able to do that before. Today is my 1 month surgiversary. Looking at pictures definitely help

You are doing great. Try to live in the joy of this. Tell someone to hide the scale and tell them not to tell you where it is no matter what. I think the reason we do this is because we have went to such drastic measures and want to see results immediately. Be patient, trust the sleeve to do its job, eat what your supposed to, take the scale out every two weeks and rejoice in the #s.

I have been stuck @ 300 lbs for the past few days :( really have to try to stop weighing myself everyday especially now that the weight is not moving as quickly. Trying to stay positive as I know stalls are to be expected. Just did not think it would be at 2 weeks out. I can not conplain to much though as I did lose 21 lbs since my surgery on july 18th' date=' well actually since the day I came home which is when I started weighing myself. :) I wish everyone the best!!!![/quote']

I was sleeved July 19th. Day of surgery I was 277. As of today I'm 258. However, I have been 258 for a few days. I have been way more active too. I didn't know we stall that early. It's really stressing me out.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
