My doctor put me on liquid diet shakes for 2 weeks prior to surgery. I bought the Kirkland brand of diet shakes from costco and they worked just fine. Shrunk that liver right down.

I had to go through the surgery twice. The first time the doctor could not put the band in place because my liver was so large he couldn't move it to get the band around the stomach. After the liquid diet, I went back and he did surgery again and it was a success.

so how many days prior to surgery did you do the liquid diet

CalGirl.....I hope pre-ops will read your post and take heed - I read so often of people who just refuse to follows their surgeon's pre-op diet orders ("whining I just can't do it") - they need to value their bodies and take their surgery very seriously. Yea I want to follow the guidlines I just was wondering how her diet was made up and how long she had to be on it ya know.
