are you hydrated or eating salty food ... salty food will make you retain water weight

I am a July 15th sleever.. With pre-op diet til now i have lost 15 lbs.. I've lost 7 of those lbs this week since Monday when I had my surgery.. & I too can't wait to eat a scrambled egg with some cheese.. Lol!

July 15th sleever here! Had a rough day yesterday with my protein shakes and jello. Made me dry heave.. Worst experience so far!! Since starting preop diet I have lost 25lbs. 7 on a 2 week pre op meal plan and 18 in the last week since surgery! I too am so excited to eat a scrambled egg and some cottage cheese!!

I get to start mushed soft foods on Thursday. Cooked cereals, scrambled or soft boiled egg, mashed or boiled no skin potato, plain yogurt, pudding, cottage cheese, and soup ( have to run that in blender). I am so ready to be off clear liquids!

Hi everyone! I was sleeved July 10. I was cleared for purée but I can't seem to eat anything, is this normal? I will tell you guys my day and see if some veterans can guide me :)

Morning: 4oz of Protein shake

Snack: sugar free banana pop

Lunch: 3 baby bites of pintos n cheese

Snack: 2 sips of juice (wouldn't go down)

Dinner: 4 bites of a scrambled egg with cheese.

When I say bites I'm using a baby spoon and I

Just can't handle anymore food. My stomach growls so sip Water bc it won't let me eat.

I don't want to mess up someone please tell me if this is right.

Thanks

cauliflower instead of potatoes? just because it is white? not a substitute at all' date=' i would rather go hungry, or bang my head against a brick wall. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />[/quote']

LOL!! THere are recipes online for mashed cauliflower. I have heard (because I come from a family of carb-conscious Barbies) that it tastes pretty good. Now, I know you're thinking never trust a Barbie, but I do trust the recommendations of two of my cousins, so I know I'm trying it.

Hi guys! My surgery is this Thurs!!!! 7/25 and I was wondering how much weight did you lose the first week after surgery?

Wow! 18lbs this week that is amazing!!! Way to go! Congrats!!

Thank you!! I'm working hard. Multiple short walks everyday with my kiddos in tow and sticking to my post op diet. And lots of Water.

I def need to up my water.. I jus can't seem to get it all down!!!! I could I guess I'm jus not trying hard enough.. How much water are u drinkin a day?

With all the different and acceptable post-op dietary guidelines out there, one could easily second-guess if they are eating the right foods at the right stage. My advice, don’t worry so much about what others are allowed to eat at what stage because everyBODY is different. Just stick to what your Surgeon and Dietician have instructed you to eat/drink. Don’t veer from this too much because these instructions are specific to you and their program, no matter what others on the forums are allowed or restricted to eat. Just my 2 cents!

I have my 2-week post-op appointment tomorrow where I will be visiting with the surgeon and program dietician. I’m really looking forward to the appointment.
