So i am getting sleeved in 10 days and I have à question for my fellow pré or post op sleevers, Do you feel like exercise slows the weight loss down? I am à nurse, i know exercise is great for you for many reasons, but i know now à days if i just diet i lose more in a week, then when i go hard at the gym. What do you guys think?

Well, that depends on your goal... If you aspire to weigh less yet be flabby and out of shape, then please don't exercise. Lol, sorry, I thought this was a funny question.

We all know muscles weighs more than fat, but I'd rather have 10 more lbs of muscle than 5 of fat. For me the answer is easy, I want to be healthy. This includes cardiovascular and muscle strength training.

Congrats on your soon- to- be sleeve!!

Good luck! :)

I know two people (one on this board) who don't exercise and are successful and maintaining. You have to do what works for you. I'd recommend exercise - as you said yourself, you already know why. :)

Eventually your body will become acclimated to the diet. You will have a very difficult time continuing to lose weight if you don't start an exercise program. The key is both diet and exercise.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
