I think it is prob normal. I had similar issues for a week or so after surgery. If you had a liquid diet prior to surgery and now your system is healing I would almost think it to be expected.

Totally normal. It is your insides waking up but will get less and less!

I am still having the diarrhea and can't keep anything down. I called the doctors today and am being tested for a viral. A little is typical but not prolonged like mine. I was also given a script.

I have this and I am approx. 10 weeks out. It started as a virus and I'm on two weeks of pure diahrea. Ended up in the hospital over the weekend dehydrated. Everything I take in is coming out. I feel a little better but I'm very concerned that I'm still pooping Water.

I am sorry to hear that Lexi. I have a prescription now and have to get a sample over to the lab. Now the funny part I have not gone in a few hours lol. So maybe virus is done or will hit me later.

And later in the evening my diarrhea did come. Back its like on and off waiting for lab results. I am supposed to go to my brothers house for a family party and do not want to run to his bathroom. I get to watch everyone eat while I drink my Isopure or broth.< /p>

My diahrea is back like Water today. Not sure why it came bsck but I could cry. It had been gone since like Monday. If it lasts through the weekend I will be calling my dr on monday to possibly do a stool sample. (I hope they take liquid) LOL

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
