Claud...I work in Human Resources (benefits, employee relations, etc)....and I'm looking for something along those lines.

Steph..SOOO sorry to hear about your friend! I have a friend who has terminal cancer despite several months of chemo and it just sucks! She is just barely 40! Hang in there..and just take this time to be thankful that you have your health and your family!

As for Thanksgiving Dinner...we're having Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Yams, Cranberry sauce, and lots of pie and who knows what else! :scared: My Mom cooks so I don't worry about the menu! lol

I'm off the rest of the week now. I'm trying to catch up around the house. I've got a load in the washer and the dishwasher is running and I've got a bath waiting for me. Its not even 9am yet! I got on the scale this morning I'm down a pound. woofrickinhoo I feel hopeful. I know I'm not going to lose the last 18 lbs by Dec 11th but maybe I'll be within 15.

My daughter comes home from college today. I miss her so much lately. At the funeral I was talking to a gf, I had babysat for her little girl too - when she was just 6 weeks old and now she's 13. She is in that stage... the one where aliens come take your child and leave a monster in her body.. I told her there is hope, you get your loving child back when they turn 18 or 19. My Olivia is 17 and I can tell she's coming back to me, she's already started to enjoy conversations with me. Raquel my oldest was the worst, they didn't just replace her with a monster but gave me a demon monster at that! But we got her back and now she's gotta call her mama everyday and is such a joy to be around.

I guess I'm rambling. Check back with you soon.

i was going to call baby jonathon james..i.e jj or johnny

but im going off that now maybe because i picked it too early and i really like travis but its a bit unusual for here so not sure, would like a "different "name but not so weird the child has hard time ...im open to suggestions.

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving!

As for me, I think I really like my current fill level. I ate a very reasonable amount on Thanksgiving. This is the first holiday I can ever remember where I didn't "pig out." I ended the day feeling great instead of all bloated! I'm pretty proud of myself--woo hoo! I think I'm starting to feel like a "normal" person (whatever the heck THAT is!). LOL!

The best thing is that all of the junk food is now gone! My DS went with his dad and I sent a "care package" of leftovers with them. All that's left to do is freeze some turkey for use another time. Now I can get back on track!

I hung up my icicle lights along the front of my house today! I finally found some little clips that I could slip under the edge of the vinyl siding on the soffit under the eaves of the house. I got new gutters last spring and because they are covered, I can't use the normal plastic clips. They were very easy to attach and the wires just popped right in. The worst part was climbing the darn ladder.

Now I'm off to decorate my tree! It's so much easier to have holiday spirit this year since I don't have to go in for surgery!

I hope I get down into the two hundred and teens soon...I'm getting antsy about seeing some new numbers I haven't seen for years on the scale!!

Take care everyone--hope no one got trampled in the mayhem of Black Friday! LOL!

Hello my lovely ladies!

I have missed you all. Sorry I have had damn in laws here, been depressed and just plain worn out! lol...

My MIL went home, she pissed me off so bad. She tore up my house more than my freaking kids. It sucks. She didn't even put her own dishes in the sink....UGH...

MY FIL is staying here for another 2 weeks for hunting season. I f*ing hate it. He is just as bad. I can't handle all this extra work. UGH.

I went shopping Black Friday, that was a ton of fun! :( Got lots of great deals, I am almost done now! WOO HOO!!

David & I had a big blow out and I asked for a divorce. He didn't take it well. He told me all the things I have needed to hear for so long and realy faught for us. It amazed me. We are going to get help. I don't know anymore, but I am willing to give it one last shot for my kids. They were a wreck, it killed me. I need to find my passion for my marriage, I have none. I know he can be an asshole, but I can tell he wants to change and keep me. That means alot.

booboo- sorry to hear about your blow out with your husband. The fact that he wants to change is awsome! If he acknowledges that then you are 1 step ahead of many many marriages I can think of. Getting professional help makes a huge difference. I know from experience. We went to counseling for a while after my huband was deployed an entire year. It was a tough homecoming, we lost our passion too.

If you pray, I would say the best thing I did was pray for that passion to return. At first I was ice cold, didnt care anymore, and my DH worked and worked and worked on our relationship, I did nothing except praying to soften my heart towards him. Then one day a few months later, I looked at him cooking Breakfast for our girls and nearly cried. I was in love again. I love him, I forgave him for whatever I thought he did wrong, ( I can't even remember details anymore, and most of it sounds so petty to me now, it was important to me then) I held no more resentment and was just in love. counseling completely saved our marriage. Looking back, all we needed was our frienship back, we weren't best friends anymore, a year apart changed all that. Being friends really makes a difference. I know your situation is a lot different, but I'm proud of you for willing to give it another shot and get help, be proud of him for being willing to change. A lot of men aren't.

Thank you sweet, I think, no I know you are exactly right. If I had to make a list of my friends he would not be on it. That is sad. I need to fix that. He told me that he felt alone and he had no one. I think I have shut him out, I know why I am mad, but it really seems stupid in the big picture.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
