Ok, funny story.

So, my marine called today. And we talk a few minutes - then, tells me he has to shave (of all things) and will call right back. So, like an hour + passes and he never calls back.

So, being the punk that I am. I proceed to send a couple sarcastic text messages to his cell saying "did you have to mine the iron-ore and smelt the razor blade yourself?" and some other funny crap about how scruffy his face must really be. I sent three of them.

Well, like 15 minutes later I get this phone call from him...

He's like do you know where I just was?

I said "no"

Apparently, he was in "formation" - a nightly thing... kind of like role call only they must stand at perfect attention and not move until it is completely finished.

Well, he had his cell phone is his front pocket... on vibrate. :)

HA!!!

He was standing there for 15 minutes with me sending him text messages... his little, um... "pocket" was just a vibrating away and he couldn't so much as move a muscle to turn the thing off!

talk about losing your concentration!!!! :heh:

He said he knew it was me too and was just standing there thinking he was gonna kill me. (not really, he was laughing as well) I was rolling on the floor laughing... it was hilarious. That is one to send into that reader's digest "humor in uniform"

HA!!

I emailed the pic of me to my mom - she hasn't seen me since July and about 20 lbs heavier - she was so happy to see me looking good. She printed the pic and hung it on her fridge. So that was nice.

hey girls, so week 4 work out 2 down! Tomorrow is my last day of week 4. I can't believe one week from now i'll be running 20 min. without stopping. Yesterday I messed up the ipod while running and did my first five minute run twice! I ended up running 10min without stopping. i was scared, i figured i would just slow it down to a walk when i couldn't take it anymore but I finished. I slowed down my pace to 4.5 and that is making a big difference in my endurance. I feel like i could go forever at that pace. My last 5min run i set it at 6.0 and add .1 every minute until i'm at 6.4 and that kicks my butt.

brandi- that is so hilarious! And you know what, cell phones are a huge huge no no when in uniform! so he was probably really flipping out. lol. That is hilarious.

steph-woo hoo, you look great girl! I also like your shoes. great job.

boo and claud-have a great time! Are you guys the first steady's to meet?

Who will be the first to make it out to germany?

so yesterday was a sad day. My husband called me from work and told me that he is orderin his Desert dress uniforms, he is going to Iraq next week. surprise! unbelievable. 3 months. there goes skiing and Rome. so we had a sad day. Put up the christmas tree together. Then last night we hear, well now he is an alternate and may not go. hopefully we will know more today. Pray they keep my man home! However, I hate to say that and sound like i'm complaining, it is his job, he is serving his country so if he goes I will feel proud of him. Just why does it have to be such a surprise?????????????????

ah Sweetie I'm sorry to hear dh may be going to Iraq. And right before the holidays!!! thats horrible and no one blames you for feeling like you do. We would all be bumming too! I hope it turns out he doesn't have to go. I just watched a suprise reunion on the Today show... it was so sweet, the daddy suprised his 5 & 8 year olds at school, they hadn't seen him in 3 or 5 months and then he's home 2 weeks and gone for another 7 months. It made me cry.

I can't believe you guys like my shoes - haha - too funny. Ok I'll try to put my before with it. Here goes.

I get to go have lunch today at 10:30 with my nephew - great nephew aka darth vader - at school. His mom and sister (aka fairy princess) are going too, then his mom is reading to his class so I'm taking Aspen with me. Shopping. Its always an experience taking the kids with me, its been a long time since my baby was that age. Which by the way, I posted a pic of my baby's first day of school. Her senior year of school.

Ok - I'm off - have a wonderful day ladies!

Steph the pics worked perfectly!! Look at the change girl! you look amazing happy.gif

SweetHot -- honey, I am so sorry about your hubby, and no... I feel the same way about sending these men and women over there too. I support those troops 100% but I sometimes wonder about the decisions behind putting them in harms way. They don't get to decide when or why they go.

It is alot to think about. This very thing has been on my mind alot lately - with making my new marine friend. Even as a new friend, it is hard to think about him being gone for a year or more and in harm's way. I don't know how any of those men over there maintain relationships. It must be very difficult. If they are lucky enough to have created a family or found a wife/family beforehand... there is always love there, but for the young guys trying to meet somebody after they've enlisted. Well, all I can figure is they must just have to put those kinds of things off. It is a lonely life for many of them. No wonder the single ones drink so much and end up sleeping around with women they shouldn't. They sacrifice not only their safety, but their chance to start families and lives...

Be strong girl :-) If worse comes to worse, your husband has a good family there at home to warm his heart and keep him strong. However, I will pray he doesn't get sent over there.

Good morning gals.

I am starting to feel like myself again. Thank God. Vacation was wonderful. A much needed respite! To update, we did not go to any strip clubs as originally planned. I was game either way, but DH decided it was a waste of money to see something he has at home. (surprise!). I think he just liked the idea of it more than the execution...worked for me. We really had a nice time together but man was I exhausted. I think I slept a total of 10 hours over 3 days. I didn't drink a lot but I drank more than I usually would. I probably had 7 drinks total, but who did I think I was having bloody mary's at 7am in the casino???? That was not me! ha. It was really a good time.

Steph-your pics are amazing! I love the skirt and shoes. It is a nice classic look that does not go out of style which is why you can't tell it is 10 years old. BTW, I bet you look as young now as you did when you last wore that skirt. Hot Hot Mama! I am really happy for you.

B-man-I am giggling over the marine/cell escapade. That is a riot! BTW, you looked frickin amazing in that halloween outfit. Funny, I was thinking about getting some fishnets for Vegas. I have never worn them before...didn't follow through. But man your legs are smoking! Hot stuff. I am in awe! Your hardwork really shows.

Sweet-wtg on the workout. I cannot believe how fast you run. I am definitely on the slower side. I feel like the 4.6 or so jog suits me fine. I am amazed that I can walk at 4.0. There was a time that 3.4 was a struggle! Keep it up. I finished week 3 day 1 today and felt great. Sorry to hear about dh. I am praying for him. I truly appreciate all the sacrifices you guys make for the rest of us. Thank you so much!

Where is my Nat? Nikki-how are you and baby feeling? Boo and Claud-are you guys together yet? I feel a little out of the loop!

Okay girlies-milestone for me...I hit 70 pounds down!!!! I am very excited. I have 6 pounds to go until I am in onederland. Things are really happening all of a sudden. I think the changes are becoming much more obvious lately because a lot of people are commenting. Weird! I feel great though.

Have a great day....

One more thing...

Is anyone interested in having a Christmas exchange similair to what we did back on Valentine's Day? I thought that was really fun.

I would be more than happy to again organize the exchange if you all would like to PM me your addresses. It may seem early but I wanted to get the idea out there. I was also interested in maybe adding you lovelies to my Christmas card list. You have become such an important part of my life and want to share some holiday spirit with you all!!!!

Let me know what you all think...maybe a $10-15 exchange??? I can put the names in randomly again. We can do a secret santa type of swap?

Kaydoll good to hear from you! Sounds like you had a wonderful time. Alone time with dh is a must and should be done as often as possible. Count me in on the exchange and cards too - I'd love getting a card from Ireland - my mum is Irish - flaming redhead too!

I had a good day with the kiddos. The little one is a blast, she talks my ear off - typical girl, talk talk talk! I like taking them one at a time to give a little extra attention.

Whats everyones plans for Thanksgiving? I guess I'm having dinner here. Should be about nine of us -

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
