Hello! I'm back! It was a fun weekend topped off by a big dinner here with ALL my kids. Somehow I have continued to watch what I ate and only had a couple of weak moments - which I have figured out are still old habits of eating without thinking. One morning the pastor brought donuts for the kids' Breakfast before we went to convention (bc it was easy & the hotel didn't have continental) so I grabbed a crueller - I had eaten half of it and went omg what am I doing? Gave it away - another time I did the same with a candy bar. We had 13 teenagers and you know how kids eat... we also ate every meal out but I was really careful and ate slowly and took my food back to the room and ate later if I needed to. Yesterday for dinner I had about 2 oz of ham, a tablespoon of everything else and it took me as long to eat that as it did everyone else to eat 2nds. I felt good about it, I enjoyed everything but knew I ate 1/4 of what I did last EAster. I weighed myself yesterday morning - I had decided to journel every Sunday - I was down another 2 lbs this week. 194!!! woohoo - I really think I'm at my sweetspot.

Va Kirsten - your pics look great! Big difference in your face and belly! Your hair is about 2" longer too! I think you should go ahead with your fill. Only bc when you have a good fill you don't have to try so hard. I have to try harder on the bandster rules but not on the food rules... do you get where I'm coming from? Before if I didn't follow all the bandster rules I just didn't lose, now if I don't follow the bandster rules I feel miserable, slime.. and all that fun stuff. So now its easier to lose the weight bc I really feel full faster and longer. For me the BIGGEST thing is eating slowly and little bites.

BK - I'm glad you found a dr who will accept your insurance. My last fill wasn't with fluro - but we should have had enough fills that we are at the sweet spot where they only need to adjust by point cc's now. Which would really suck if you had to pay all that money to get these teeny little adjustments. Anyway don't worry about it, you've already had fluro and know your band is fine.

Bman - I eat candy and junk alot more then I should but I have the attitude of this is a lifestyle change and not a diet and theres no way I can ever give that stuff up - my lifestyle change is that I don't binge on it, I can eat half of a candy bar and be totally satisfied. In fact my dd was selling those evil things again and it took me 3-4 days to eat one. I just ate enough to satisfy that sweet tooth. But if you can't eat it without binging or falling off then I wouldn't do it. I account for every bite on fitday - bc we all know it adds up pretty darn fast!

I gotta go - love you all! Chat at all of you later!

I had three of them... and they were DELICIOUS!! i still did fine on my calories for day... so i am not a bit worried. I deserve a treat every once in a great while.

Brandi I hope you savored every bite of that Reeses. :)

BK I feel the same as you. When I see the scale finally moving I'm so happy! I love it - makes it all worth while.

I still struggle with eating SLOW - geesh I don't know why or how long its going to take me to get better habits! I did it again today, that first big bite and then I'm like whoooooooa! I think its bc I was eating at my desk and not sitting at the bar and thinking about my food.< /p>

Steph...I'm with you...slow and small bites is REALLY Hard to master! Especially when you've waited too long to eat and you're HUNGRY!!

I contacted my surgeons office today to ask if they could send me a copy of my medical file so I can go for a fill locally. I'm just waiting to hear back from them if they're going to charge me to make the copy or not. I'll probably call the local fill dr. tomorrow to see how soon they can get me in.

Hey girls,

How have you all been? How did we all do at Easter?

I am trying to hang on. Life keeps dumping more and more on me. I go to a specialist on the 16th, for the lump. My DH kidneys are shutting down and he is being a complete ass and acting like it is no big deal. He had a bunch of tests today and more on Thursday.

On the plus I am like 3 pounds from being 100 pounds gone! lol...I did get a fill Friday even though I know I shouldn't have with the health issues. But I needed it to keep my sanity! :)

Boo its so good to hear from you! I hope all the tests come out ok. I'll be praying for you and hubby. I'm sorry to hear everything happening to you all at once like this - that really stinks. Congrats on the near 100 loss! woohoo!!! you go girl!

Kirsten I'm glad you got things rolling. You'll be happy with another fill. Being at this spot makes it all so much easier. I don't feel like I'm dieting anymore. I don't have to fight the snack urge every night, its great. I'm going to keep up on my fills as I need them, now that I know how it can really work.

Back to work... I forgot how much work I have when we open up again. Geesh and I was bored at home??? Was I CRAZY!!!??!!!

wtg BK!!! You are doing so good since your last fill! I'm really proud of you!

Ok silly question. Have you ever caught a glimpse of yourself and go wow is that me? Just happened to me. I had ran to the bank and when I was getting out of the car I saw myself in the window of the car next to me. My face looked so thin! I was like holy cow is that me? then I kept trying to see myself in all the other windows. LOL

Yay BK! Nice to see your scale moving!!

Steph - since I'm still the same general shape a lot of times I still think I look the same. Yet, I'll catch a body part out of the corner of my eye and go "wow, that *is* a lot smaller!". Like my wrists. They're freaking tiny. I can't say I'm big boned any more! What you described is a HUGE NSV!!!

Brandi - I'm glad you let yourself indulge on something so yummy - I'm like you, I try not to do that, but I think it's really healthy to do it once in a while when it's planned...

Boo - keep us posted - we're all thinking good thoughts for you & your family and BIG WTG on you being almost to 100 lbs! Yippee!!!

Glad you all survived Easter. I am glad some of your scales are moving too. I havent lost anymore for a week and a half. I need another fill, I can eat too much. I think the only reason I lost the 4 pounds 2 weeks ago is b/c I couldnt eat for 3-4 days. I am going to try to go in to see him Monday if I have the money. This will be the first time I have to pay for a fill--$75.00.

I also havent exercised since my daughters accident but I may try to go tomorrow. I am quite depressed since the accident and cant get motivated to work out yet!

(((Jill))) Good to hear from you! The little sweetie pie is healing ok then? I know what you are talking about bc things can throw me for a loop too - in fact just being out of town for a few days and I get out of my routine - I haven't really walked in almost a week. But today I am. I hope your fill works. My fills are covered by insurs. but I still have a $35 co-pay, a small price to pay compared to so many others.

My dd is sick, hopefully it will pass soon. She is in a local pagent this weekend so I'm praying she'll be feeling better by Saturday. She came to my room crying last night, she couldn't sleep, she was aching all over, I gave her tylonel and half a sleeping pill (she's almost 17) - and I told her she didn't have to go to school just sleep in and get rested.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
