So fast day today I've had breakfast/dinner and greek yogurt for a snack (I had plain but dressed it up with sugar free Torani syrup...in a fall flavor pumpkin Pie and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice...yum!)

But I'm at 465 cals right now...WHA??? That almost NEVER happens to me. So I'm all giddy thinking about one more little snack...lol. I also burned 632 cals at Spin class today...(estimated) but rode solid/hard for 62 minutes and 18.9 miles woo hoo!

Anyway' date=' guess I spoke too soon about cloud cover and rain. It. Will. Not. Stop. and it's causing some big flooding...wishing I could find the faucet and turn it OFF.

We live in a dry climate(colorado) so this is most unusual...ugh! In the last 2 days we have gotten over 12 inches of rain in just our area![/quote']

I hope you guys are doing ok. I saw the news today about all the flooding. I can't believe how much rain is coming down there!

It's almost 7:00 and I'm in at 443 so not bad, but not pretty either! I'm hormonal, have a sweet tooth and have literally been waiting all day for furniture to be delivered! Its almost 7 and they still haven't shown up! I pity the fool unloading and setting the stuff up because I'm grumpy :P

Oh edit!

I keep forgetting to write an update on my thyroid. I got the results Tuesday and its benign!

I talked to the endocrinologist and I think I'm going to let it ride a bit before I take it out.

I'm just not ready to do it and start fussing with meds and thyroid levels. So I'm going to go in for check ups every couple of months and keep an eye on it :)

Well yesterday started out as a fast day but somehow or other ended up as half a fast (770 calories) and I don't have the days to getting another fast before my Monday weigh in. I have a special weekend planned with my family - I'm off to London. My husband and I have been married 30 years (pearl) on the 17th, we did not want a party but instead we are having a special weekend with our 2 boys. Tonight we are going to dinner in Gaucho's which is an Argentinian steak house situated right on the Thames and tomorrow we are off to see the Mousetrap. All quite exciting - I'm sure there will be plenty of eating and drinking this weekend so the weigh in Monday might not be too good. Well we most probably won't Celebrate another anniversary in A big way for 10 more years so I will accept a little gain.

What will e nice tonight is that I can dress up and feel good about the way I look, couldn't do that 88lbs ago.

Hope everyone is well, having a good day whether you are fasting or feasting.

Well, I did great adding in one more yogurt last night aaaaand then my family made popcorn. Gah! So I went over 500 easily...lol.

LV- Wonderful news!!! So happy to hear that you don't have to "do" anything right away. Like G said, keep an eye on it (I'm sure you will!)

Cathy- congratulations, have a FUN weekend, the 5:2 way will be waiting for you when you are ready!

Cheri- I hope the baby starts feeling better with reflux meds...poor thing. I forget how hard it is to function on interrupted sleep! Hang in there!

Well, again it is STILL raining here in Colorado. They even cancelled school because of it. We've had school cancelled due to snow but never due to rain! Aaargh. We have had a bit of flooding in our basement, but I think we have stopped it for now. We have a window well that filled with Water and it soaked right through the window. At least the basement is unfinished. The destruction city and state-wide is pretty devastating and 3 people have lost their lives. :( Just a few days ago we were all complaining about the heat. So keep us in your thoughts, I think the rain is forecasted to quit around noon today...I sure hope so!

Yes, I've been watching the scary news stories. Flash floods are very scary stuff. We are prone to have them here also. Keep safe and stay dry!

When you finally have your thyroid out, you will lose more weight because it will be difficult to swallow.....another tool to help with not eating. LOL Laura I am very happy for you that it's benign..... :P

M2G I want you to be safe and send all that rain to Southern California, we do really need it. :( you have have to experience this....but good job on your fasting day.....

I didn't fast yesterday but my scale basically stayed the same......Today my DH and myself are going up to Big Bear to see how the work on our cabin is coming along and tomorrow we are going to the USC football game. Hopefully they play better this time. I would rather not go because of the heat and my junk food monster comes out. So I plan on going to the University have some of their delicious chicken and stuff myself so I have no room for anything else......I will get a lot of exercise too....It is going to be in the 90's so I'm really dreading going...... :( Oh well, I need to make it fun, after all, it's a day in my life..... LOL Have a great day everyone...... :P

Happy anniversary Cathy! It sounds like a wonderful time you have planned!

M2G, I hope you are hanging in there...I've been watching the updates, stay safe.

Skinniness, good times! Well except for the heat.

I'm not a hot weather girl myself.

Oh and M2G

Yeah I killed my fast yesterday too :(

I did so good, but then.... Peanut Butter ugh!!!

I blame it on the movers, they finally showed up at 7:45 pm!!! Well they set up my sons new bed and mattress (beautiful by the way) and they smelled of POT so bad (thank god my son was at a sleep over) I swear I got a contact high and got the munchies! :P

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!! :D

Awesome!! Happy anniversary!! I LOVE London!! :-)

I haven't really fasted all week. I'm currently slightly bitter that fitbit didn't count anything about my VERY difficult TRX course. What?? I ate about normal, but I worked out like a mad woman...

About to go on holiday, so let's see how that goes... :-) xoxox

When I do some activity that does not show up on my fitbit... anything with extra upper body, incline or such, I just add it on MFP and it works it all out for me. (assuming your fitbit is talking with MFP) Like today I worked in the garden, LOTS of shoveling, and fitbit doesn't have much to say about that.. I added it to MFP and it gave me more calories (yea!!!)

good to hear everyone's progress...

Congrats on your pearl wedding anniversary - a very big deal so enjoy London-baby and sod the scales!

M2G, that is way too much rain! Hope it stops soon. Our weather has broke here too and it is getting colder and wetter by the day. I have already washed my winter coat and the boots will be coming out soon!

MIL still here, so fasting is not going well...sigh! We took her out for tea on Tues and she had a 'funny' turn, ended in an ambulance ride to A&E! I have been with my hubby 20 years and I have never seen the woman ill; not once! SO this was very scary... luckily she is getting better and will stay here a little longer than planned.

I am being uber cautious with the cals though, staying as low as I can without drawing attention to myself. I was mega proud of myself in work and passed up yummy cakes on treat Friday, but then let myself down by eating pizza for tea! MIL paid (very unusual) so I couldn't pass up the opportunity ...lol.

scale hasn't been cruel to me yet and sat between 163 and 162 for the whole week so far.

MIL goes on Monday, so I will be back on track, both in the diet and the gym!

Haha, that made me laugh. Sorry MIL is poorly, hope she's back in the pink very soon...but it's funny that she paid for pizza when she never pays...and yeah, that means you MUST eat it!! :P

(Do you ever miss the "Gonna get to goal" thread? I do. Even though I also love this one now too...)

Coops hope the MIL gets better soon!

I'm actually upstairs right now smelling pizza! I have many children downstairs right now so the planned meatloaf for dinner was out. And I just ordered a pizza :D

After my Peanut Butter run in last night, I'm keeping dinner a little more resonable tonight though....

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

Good Luck this procedure is well worth it I am down to 249.6 lb please continue with the process..

      2. Selina333

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

      3. Doughgurl

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
