Hang in there, Laura! I think it must be going around, I'm having a blue week, too. I noticed your avatar change, too. Don't go getting so frustrated you bail on us! :)

Fast day today. Oh, and since there was a pie contest at hubs' work, I had to get up early on my fast day and bake an apple pie. Bleh. Well, I shouldn't complain. I don't even like apple pie. It's the principle, though. Like I want to play with food hours before I can eat any!

I'm not sure if the gals at the playground are jealous or what. I think it just makes them feel bad that I'm still putting in effort and they've stopped. I know my husband hears at work from the other boys that this is a problem for a lot of them - like they feel their wives just sort of quit trying once they have kids. I don't know. In my case, I wasn't trying when I got married and I'm not trying to do anything for anyone else now. I just want to feel pretty, so piss on the passive aggressive or rude comments!

Hope everyone has a lovely Thursday. I'd say I'm avoiding the main forums today but nah, it's an addiction.

I totally need to change the part of my profile that says registered user. But to what? Sarcastic little mean person? That fits my mood lately...

Laters! I'm off to go tend a fussy baby that just had immunizations yesterday. It's just plain ridiculous how many needles they poke your kid with by the time they're five.

I do like my big jewelry and lipstick though! And I have been trying to make more of an effort the last 2 years... might as well make the best of the best its going to get! I shop at all the best thrift stores! No awesome $4.99 blouse refused!

Soul sisters!! I feel absolutely NAKED without lipstick on, I believe I'm totally addicted to it. I have it all over my desk, in my purse, all over the place at home, etc. I can't be without it. And I am almost always wearing jewelry as well, not a ton of it, but something. Minimum is usually watch, wedding rings and earrings -- but bracelets are a new obsession. And the skirt I'm wearing today came from the flea market, a favorite new find!

I've always "tried hard" too, Cheri. Whether heavy or less so, it never hurts to take care about how you look. I'm never trying to put on airs or anything, but it's good to show you are proud of yourself and aren't willing to settle for only Buns and yoga trousers. "Trying hard" just means TRYING full stop. Trying TOO hard is where it crosses the line I guess -- going from self-awareness and self-respect to their ugly cousins self-consciousness and false fronts.

Love to all. Fasting today and feeling it!!

my fast day today - scales holding at 161 c'mon just 2lbs for the 150s!

For those of you in a funk... roll with it for a little time. I felt exactly the same way a few weeks ago and I gave myself time to lick my wounds and then I bounced back!

Hugs x

Look at you! 161?? You are knocking on the 150's door'

Cheri,

I hope the baby is doing well, I really hate the immunizations....

And screw the b*****s at the park! :P

Main forums?? A lesson in futility some days...

But I'm always sticking my nose in it anyway.

Fasting and ready for it. I liked how fasting made me feel on monday soooo much, I was looking forward to today. I just feel like my metabolism is kicking in right now... don"t know how long that will last, but lovin' it now! Even on feast days, I was loving it. My food tasted so good, and at the same time I could hardly get to my calorie goals. Love when that happens, which is not that often if I'm not cooking for myself. Going to LA in a couple of weeks, and will have to go onto "maintenance" mode then. (only one fast in the week) You all have a nice day, and don't forget to leave some room for something better to happen than you ever could have imagined!

Mrs,Skinniness you came to my town!

I love this town. I wish I could move there......I will be back to visit my adopted family in a couple of months and perhaps we can meet. It would be a lot of fun. I stayed at the Motel 6. What a small world..... :P

Hope the baby is better today! And just so you know I got a huge laugh out of changing "registered user" to "sarcastic little mean person" hahahaha!

I'm still a "registered user" after all these years. Never bothered to get creative, but I love the idea.

I'm supposed to have my "fast" day but a girlfriend and I are going out to lunch. Has anyone done a fast day whilst eating out? Not sure what I should do? Move it to Fri or try for today? Thoughts?

I've always been EXTREMELY jealous of those people who look "careless" elegant and then There's me who has to work to look average! Lol.

Now, in my opinion, Feed would be one of the carelessly elegant types! And Coops is the pixie looking fresh faced girl

And Laura looks like she is a kid at 47!

And M2G has that thin lovely face in her profile which I am ALWAYS envious of since my round face always looks chubs.

Oregon, I can't see your face. :). And the other girlfriends on here who are at 135-140. Well, just know I am ENVIOUS!

G- you are so sweet to say that thank you! But just know that I do NOT weigh anywhere near 135lbs...OMG! Don't you worry, there are still come curvy girls around here! ;)

Today is going to be really hard. I am not in the frame of mind to diet right now. I hate that word. I am having moments where I just want to give up. I am in an emotional turmoil and having a lot of head hunger going on. I find myself eating when I'm not hungry too. Today I will be going through the refrigerator and cupboards and cleaning them out of all the crap. On my trip I allowed myself to have those stupid flamin hot cheetos and reese's Peanut Butter cup. Now I know I need to get back on track. No more head hunger is allowed......I really needed to vent today. My rational process is lacking and the emotional side is rearing it's ugly head. :(

Oh well, need to snap out of this pity party and Celebrate life and my skinniness. I will lose these 5 lbs. Going to the park to walk and the mall later on.... :P

Don't give up, Ms skinniness! I have felt the same way at times, too. Lately there's a reluctance on fast days and I'm getting sloppy with sticking to the 500 calorie limit. In part, it's due to plain old laziness. But part of it is that all told, I don't seem to be losing weight any faster on 5:2 so I find myself eating more like my old maintenance routine and shedding those pounds slowly.

Oh dear, I pray I'm not one of *those* people that needs instant scale gratification to feel happy. :P

I ran in to the same mindset last time I slowly slogged to goal. Those last fifteen pounds? It took me FIVE stinking months to lose them. I only have one more pound to be back in my maintenance window, another four after that to be at the bottom of that range and another three after that to be back at my original goal weight. So, top end, we're looking at eight pounds.

Yeah...it's totally going to take me three more months to painfully work my way back there and I know it.

It's discouraging...but I guess I'm being ungrateful, because at least I'm not gaining and at least this still isn't challenging.

It's not that it's hard, it's that I just don't feel like doing it.

Anyway, you stick around and hang in there and I'll stick around and hang in there. And eventually, we'll both see the numbers we want on the scale.< /p>

Then we get our free unicorn prize, or so I hear. And it's all rainbows and sparkly sunshine after that!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
