I still have roughly 60 days. I've been reading several post from people who said they were having doubts. I couldn't understand why they would doubt. I'm so ready for this. Then yesterday I was laying in bed thinking, "Wow ... only 60 days left until I start my two week liquid diet...Wait...why is my heart racing all of a sudden? Oh ... what am I doing? Do I really want to do this? OMG...I thought those people were crazy and here I am." I do want to have this surgery, but the closer it gets, the nervous feelings and doubt are creeping in. I do want this and I will go through with it, but WOW ... that was sure a wake up moment for me. I can now say that I understand. :)

I went through it as well. I even backed out on my first attempt to schedule a doc. appointment. I got lucky though. Once I decided to go through with it, I was scheduled and done within 3 weeks - start to finish. Don't know if I could have kept my nerve up for much longer. :-)

I know exactly what you mean! I am scheduled for September 7th and am super nervous. I know I really want this, but the fact that it is really going to happen is scary!

All the cool kids are doing it, you are not cool if you dont!

Just kidding, its natural to second guess all big decisions. Stick to what your guy is telling you (literally and figuratively) and you will be fine with your decision! Start preparing yourself now, start eating several very small meals/healthy Snacks a day, maybe every 2 hours, and you will be ready when the time comes. Best to get started now rather than indulging leading up to the pre-op diet and then cutting off cold turkey!

My surgery is in 20 days and I have been back and forth between "what the hell am I doing" and "it will be the best thing i'll ever do for myself. I think it's normal - now i'm just worried about the anxiety with the travel.

I am 2 weeks PO and had the exact same feelings as you did. This surgery is no joke and at this point I am still feeling a little like WTH did I do? I know the first 4-6 weeks are the hardest, I will reevaluate after that how I feel about the whole thing. Make sure you are ready to change your life. The early days are a breeze for some, and not so breezy for others. I am somewhere in between. I have lost 20lbs post op so far, but it is not easy! Not trying to scare anyone, rather go in with your eyes open. It has been comforting for me to know others had a tough start and ended up loving their new life.

If it makes you feel any better, post-op my only WTH did I do moment was the day after surgery when I was really thirsty bc my surgeon doesn't allow fluids until after the 24-hr leak test. After that it was smooth sailing. I think it's just normal jitters. always easier being on the other side. Just take one day at a time and try not to overthink it--I know that's easier said than done. Wishing you all the best!

I feel the same way. I go back and forth each day but I never doubt that I will go through with it. 15 days for me!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
