There is nothing as good as a good.....

Recommended Posts

Just let me start with the fact that I am almost a month out from surgery.

I have a hard time eating. I've figured out that I need to somehow eat and not allow gas to enter my stomach. Yea, right! I have to allow gas in my stomach to dissipate before I eat too many bites of food. If I don't I either get really uncomfortable or I just plain throw up.

So, there is nothing as good as a good, earth shaking burp. :o :o :o :o

I struggled with this for about two to three months. It seemed like I would never learn. It was so bad that If I were having a meal with my family and I got up to use the restroom I could hear them saying, "oh there goes mom to puke again." I finally had to scold all of them, including my husband for saying it because it didn't matter where we were when they would say it...even at a restaurant! It made me look like I was bulimic! Anyhow, I finally got it down and through my head to slow down when I ate. It takes time to change those old habits. I seriously used to eat like I was in prison and other inmates were going to come a steal my food! Lol finally I savor every bite and enjoy the meal instead of stuffing my face...hehe

Good luck to you and your new sleeved tummy! :)

I remember my first belch after surgery - it felt great that something "normal" happened! I think it was 1.5 weeks post op - a great day lol!

I am totally with you. I finally learned that at 7 weeks out tomorrow, I MUST MUST MUST use baby utensils. After a bite or three, I get up, walk around the living room to work out a burp and then I can eat a few more bites.

I was running to the bathroom to vomit for the first 6 weeks after two to three bites and that was miserable. I think I was eating too fast or too big of bites.

If a burp is really stuck, I've learned to go to the bathroom, lean over the sink and cough. A huge DISGUSTING burp erupts and everything is golden again.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
