I'm scheduled for surgery on Aug. 1st. I've been diagnosed with a large rectocele. It did not disqualify me from the procedure. I have a long history of chronic Constipation and laxative use. Currently the only thing I take is Docusate Sodium 100 mg / 2 caplets daily. I'm curious if there are others here with this problem. I don't want to risk a tear or hernia from having to strain to have a BM. Did having the surgey make things easier, or make it worse. How did you manage it?

Constipation is a big deal with this procedure. I would speak to your dr & prob prepare to begin a regular regiment. I never had any issues with constipation, but after the sleeve...I Do! :-/

I was on dulcolax everyday before surgery. The week of my all liquid preop diet stopped that as i was having the opposite problem. I am only 1 week post op now but am still experiencing more of the opposite of Constipation. Good luck!

I have this also and I haven't had issues with it. At first I had Constipation and I just did enemas. No big deal. Now I'm regular.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
