Has anyone had the BIG stitch finally popped? I can't wait until mine does. How long is the average wait?

What big stitch are you talking about?

Well, the bigger scan (where the stomach was pulled through) has this dent that's stitched to inside layers and it's supposed to pop on it's own after a certain amount if time...

I have never heard of this. I had my incision above my belly button come open 2wks ago, which is common but never heard anything about the big incision.

Oh so that's why one of my incisions is sort of tucked in.... I asked do about that spot cuz it's hard underneath the surface and she told me that it's because there is a stitch there. But no mention of it "popping". Hope it don't hurt lol. Thanks for the info

I've been wondering why my stomach has a dent there. All the other incisions feel ok but every time I bend over that one incision hurts! Feels like its opening

Mine too! All the others are nearly invisible except for that one.

I was told the stitch dissolves, not really "pops.."

And u actually feel relief when it happens.

Well yes, the stitch dissolves but when it does that tension there releases so it feels like a pop. It can happen when you stretch or sneeze or if you're sleep you prob won't feel it but you'll know cus that "dent" will be gone and it would feel so much better.

I was told it would happens around 2 after surgery. I'm almost there so I can't wait.

Mine happened about 2 1/2 weeks out. Then I started getting these stabbing pains in that area every time I bent over or twisted wrong, but the sharp pains went away in about 3 days.

My big stitch was actually stapled shut. Had the staples removed after a week, and then the incision split open and became infected. :\ All of my other incisions have had allergic reactions to the skin glue and bandage adhesive. It's not pleasant. :(

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
