Postop question--

How do you measure your Fluid intake? My surgeon wants me at 64oz postop, and I have no idea how I'm going to measure the fluid.

Any advice? :-)

I bought a 32 oz bottle and I try to sip on it all day long. Count in an addition 3 shakes of 4 oz each (I can't drink more), that puts me at 44, and then I try to drink one g-2 which puts me at 56, and then maybe 2 broths or Popsicle etc..you have to keep adding up the totals in your head through the day. If you're tracking on My fitness pal, it's easier to keep track of the liquids there. The big bottle really helps though.

I think my husband found it at CVS but you can get them anywhere including grocey stores. This is what you're looking for:

Hi Misscee, I hope you are well. I am 3 days post-op and trying to figure my liquids out too. I've been journaling but I fell like I can't get enough liquids in. Have a good day :)

Jeanie, I don't think we did either on day 3, but it got easier with every day. Hang in there.

What is this swallow test that you speak of? I think I've only seen it mentioned once or twice' date=' but have no clue what it is.[/quote']

Did you have to swallow barium for your preop tests? If so, it is the same thing. They give you contrast---yuck-- and make you swallow it to make sure the sleeve is working and not leaking. My first test failed because my sleeve was too swollen to let anything through. Yesterday it went great!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
