Hey I also got Sleeved on the 19th June in Sydney Australia. I am still suffering shoulder tip pain but better than in Hospital, I cannot eat more than a 3 teaspoons of puréed chicken Soup so I'm going to make another batch of soup but more brothy and light. I started this journey @ 156kg on the 5th March and weighed in on the morning of the surgery the 19th of June @ 146kg now I weigh 138kg.. The funny thing is I don't feel 18kg lighter..!! All in all I feel positive am doing my darnedest to walk as much as I can and I cannot wait for FIJI in September..

A year from now I will be able to have crunchy foods like a cracker or no steak for a year, the canned chicken you can smash it to nothing in your mouth quite soft, but yes do what your doctor says to do. I can never have no carbonated beverage again.

Wow! I can't believe you get to have all that food!! I'm on liquids for 3 weeks. Then soft food for 3 weeks.

I was wrong, on my discharge papers it said FULL liquids / soft mushy foods.. For 3 wks , sugar free pudding, light yogurt , low fat cream Soups, milk and Protein supplements shakes (then below the paper it said also include foods that are smashable with a fork .. After your posting made me read the main book and it said different .. So I called the Doctor office and she told me not to do that again.. I'm was confused and I hope I didn't lead anyone in the wrong direction.. Now I hope I didn't cause damage to my self .... Sorry

Hi. New to this, but I also had my sleeve done on the 17th. Have my post op appt with doc today. I am feeling great and am surprised at how easy the recovery has been (for me at least). I had gallbladder surgery back in Dec and it was rough! I am so excited to start this new journey in my life!

Mitz! Be careful!! I'm sure you are ok. I'm on full liquids and they have to be able to pour through a strainer. Metal wire strainer.

sugar free Popsicles

nectar Protein, really good!

All broths

Diluted soups and strained

Skim or 1% milk with no sugar added instant Breakfast

Any crystal lights with Water

Low calorie Gatorade

I hope you have it all figured out now. Good luck!!

One week and 2 day check in!

I've lost 12 lbs! Doing great! I'm so happy! Feeling good, looking good!

Best thing I ever did! Even with dealing with head hunger, would not trade this experience for anything...

I have to ask... Does anyone have hunger pain. Like empty stomach pain??? I am no where near hungry but it feels like hunger pain! The pain meds help.... Will this go away when my stomach is healed? I was sleeved on the 19th.

I have no hunger but like a thirst , I still have pain in the stomach like nausea kind of, I was sleeved the 19. For me this all is easily overcome, I hear some say mind hunger. But from people that had it and like 3 yrs in they said it will pass.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
