I was told that I could begin my mushy phase today at the Dr's office and I came home and broiled some Orange Roughy...I think I ate too much because my stomach hurts and I am wondering how long it takes for this to go away, if I should drink to try to move it along or just be patient....Won't do it again ..aarrgghh.

Tums ;) and don't lay down. I over ate once and was so miserable. I went to lay down and it stayed with me for hours. I later read in some of the material given to me from the hospital that it is best to stay upright to help move it along. I would advise against trying to drink to push it through....that will likely just fill you up more at this point (uhg). Hang in there and just remind yourself to eat soooo slowly and to really stop once you begin to feel full. I am so bad about not wanting to throw away those last few bites but have found that it is much preferable to quickly get the remainder out of my sight rather than finish it and be miserable for a few hours.

Hope that helps.

Jen

try tums, and do NOT drink anything, that will make it worse, and possibly make you throw up. the feeling should pass in about an hour or so

Has you doc or nut given you measurements of how much to start out with. I think mine is 1/3 cup to start and chew a lot and go slow. Measure measure measure! That way it's easier to avoid over doing it.

Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
