Today is week 2 and I feel like crap!

Recommended Posts

I got sleeved on 5/30... I do my walking, the gas pain in my chest is hardly there now which is so nice because that was gonna be the death of me, now my problem is keeping food. Protein Drinks, chicken broth, Jello, pudding, yogurt.... I take in a little bit and about an hour or 2 later I'm ready to pray to the porcelain gods. What gives?! I tried small bites of actual food thinking it would help (had a stupid moment) because that obviously didn't work. I'm just kinda lost because I know I'm missing out on my Protein and nutrients... Did anyone have this problem? Also, I've never had heartburn or indigestion so I'm not sure if this is it but I feel this gurgling ugliness in my chest area...

Do you have your gallbladder? I had the SAME issue, after 4 weeks of pain, heartburn, indigestion, they found out it was my gallbladder, and a side effect of the WLS. Good Luck.

I had that problem. Just take what you can stand and work your way into the recommended amounts. You will be fine.

Since it's two hours later I don't have a good answer. I would check with the doc and see if he/she thinks it is something to be concerned about. I had problems and had to take tiny sips slowly, but it got me right away, not two hours later.

I agree that you should see your doctor. It sounds a little like a possible stricture (I have heard others describe on here - take with a grain of salt as I'm pre-op).

Are you taking a PPI? (Zantac, Prevacid, protonix, etc.)

I'm not... Should I be? They removed my gallbladder at the time of surgery too so I'm not sure what's going on

I know my doctor does for the first few months whether you have symptoms or not. I'd call about it!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
