June 25th Sleevers? I need a buddy...

Recommended Posts

My appointment was this morning...I had to leave a urine sample, they took some blood, checked my blood pressure. They also went over instructions as to what meds I could take the morning of the surgery...when to stop eating/drinking the night before...etc. Some people talk to the anesthesia department at this appointment...I will talk to them the morning of surgery. Hope that helps and makes you feel more comfortable.

I am the 25th too and a revision. The last week has been a roller coaster of emotions. Tomorrow I should find out for good if I am cleared for surgery so I haven't really prepared anything yet. I don't want to buy the post surgery foods/meal replacements until I know. Plus I need an unwired bra for the hospital. It makes it so much more comfortable after surgery.

Does everyone have all of their stuff ready?

Not yet :( but I have started putting things aside. Can u wear ur sports bra during surgery?? I kno dumb question right??? But it's gonna b so painful to put it on right after...eeek???? My surgeon said he normally makes 4 incision close to and right above the navel cuz I'm also concerned bout my bra situation. Im either thinking 18 hour or sports bra???

Not a dumb question ...but you will be in your birthday suit with a gown they will take off during surgery. I had the lap band surgery before and I got a bra that hooked in the front so it didn't hurt that bad to put on. But definitely not an underwire lol

Time does seem like it has stopped. I am sooo ready for it to be next week, however, on the other hand, I find myself getting exceedingly nervous. Like...have I made the right decision...will I back out at the last minute...can I really do this? I think it is just the realization that the surgery is finally really here on top of the whole pre-op liquids that is causing me to feel this way.

June 25th for me as well! I'm in Boston. But unlike a lot of people here I didn't have to do a liquid diet pre-surgery... Is that abnormal???

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
