I'm in more pain today then I have been this entire time with the exception of when I woke up in recovery.

Every time I drink Water, no matter how small the sips; it just sits in my chest and burns. I've tried it cold, warm, hot, with and without crystal light. Vegetable broth seems to be the only thing I'm not having trouble with.

My mom, who drove up here to take care of me, left because she has to go to work in the morning. So I'm alone and I keep randomly bursting into tears for no reason at all.

I think theres a rash developing on the left side of my stomach. (If it does not go away by tomorrow, I'll call my doc.)

Anyways, thanks for letting me vent. I know It will be better in a few days. I'm just in hell week, and I knew this week would be hell week from the beginning. But sometimes you just need to vent.

Day three sucks.

day six here. have had terrible trouble keeping any Protein Drinks in, so it has been FOREVER since I had anything to even sustain me! Saw Dr. Today, so far everything checks out ok, as long as I keep getting some fluids in. I am sorry you are having a hard day, but that's what we are here for:)

I wish I could say something to make you feel better but I haven't been sleeved yet. All I can say is that I'm scared now. :( Hope you feel better soon!

Don't be scared. Just know that the first week sucks, but it will get better! (Or at least that's what they keep telling me. Lol)

Yes, and it's a bit of a mind trick, because when I was getting ready to leave the hospital, I was like "wow, this was easier than I had thought it would be!" but then....a day and 2 days later...felt pretty rough. I felt I had backslid. I think it was just that I was on IV in the hospital, and the IV pain meds & fluids made me feel pretty good.

Here's something my sweet husband said to me that totally helped...

Lie still, close your eyes, and imagine that you are lying in the great hand of God. God is loving and protecting you, and God has his other hand on your tummy, and he is sending his blessings to help your tummy heal.

I used that as a prayer/meditation, and it helped me relax and sleep.

My Day 2 sucked the worst... but here at Day 6, I feel pretty much "back to normal".

As for drinking... try taking a sip, and then taking a deep breath afterwards... I learned this trick during the barium test (the doc showed me), and it makes the Fluid go on down in to your stomach. (Can't hurt to try).

Sorry you are feeling bad, it will get better... so as WilsonPhillips would say "Hold on for one more day, day, day...."

That sounds like an amazing idea. Thank you.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
